I was thinking about how the straw hats always Get stronger through each fight and then the though came to mind who would be the perfect opponent for the straw hats someone that capitalized on each of their weaknesses.
Luffy - His fights mostly relies on his natural talent as a fighter and his luck and brute strength. His lack of mental power is normally his down fall.
She Manipulated emotion and laid traps. Luffy being Luffy always rushes ahead making traps very good against him.
Example 2.
NOT SAYING HE CAN BEAT LUFFY!
Luffy has no formal training in martial arts and is a hand to hand fighter being weak against swords.
A samuria is the opposite of that. A dedicated martial artist as well as a swordsman.
Zoro - He is a very dicisplined strong fighter but honestly he isnt that bright.
Law is strong enough that zoro couldnt just out right over power him and due to laws brain power being so high he could force zoro into situations that made him think on a higher level.
Example 2.
NOT SAYING THE GREAT BUGGY WINS THIS FIGHT!
Swords dont work against buggy so Zoro would have to think beyond just becoming stronger
Nami - Uses her skills with weather and her clima tact to defeat opponents. she doesnt really use hand to hand combat although she used it WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYy back in east blue before the climatact was made.
Again Kinemon.
This would force her into hand to hand combat and make her rely more on strenght his fire could cancle out the weather she is trying to make as well.
Example 2.
Would take her out of her element as well forcing her into hand to hand combat. Lightning simply not being enough to crush him
Usopp - Long range fighter. He is a crack shot and rarely misses He is over whelming at long range fights as show at EL
Range would suddenly stop being his ally and start being his enemy. His preferance being to fire from a distance at which he is untouchable being his downfall this would push him into close quaters gunning and improve his movement.
Example 2.
A close range fighter that can take anything Usopp can dish out. It would not only push his endurence. (Which is arguably the best already of the crew being that he was strong enough to tank shiki's attacks and remain concious. Which the rest of the crew couldnt (Excluding the mid trio). It would also push his hand to hand capablities speed and strength
Sanji - Uses his legs to dish out powerful blows to his oppenents. Dedicated in Black leg style and intellegent.
His Tenkai and haki make him like a wall. Quite litterally a wall for sanji to over come. Ever try kicking a wall to knock it down. Your foot breaks if you dont learn where to hit it. Sanji being a brute strength fighter wouldnt lose his swords or lose the strength to move his rubber body he would break his legs. Vergo would push him past that
Example 2.
This guy is a wall beyond vergo. He would push sanji beyond his limits in the same fashion.
Chopper - a close range fighter that uses his body and strength to mow down oppenents
chopper has no distance attacks being the only straw hat to do so. Even brook has tthat sword jab that fires compressed air. Luffy has jet pistol. Sanji has diablo fritters. Zoro has his compressed slashes of air. Nami wind and lightning. Robin growing arms wherever. Franky his beams and blasts. Chopper at a distance is a sitting duck and people like usopp would stay away and make him compessate for his lack of range and over come it.
Example 2.
Second verse same as the first.
Robin - Uses her DF to grab and restrain her oppenents and choke bend break and twist them till they stop fighting. (or snap their neck)
Luffy isnt gonna break when she bends him and he cant be restrained because he is stronger than her. It would force her to turn her hands into iron or blades or ya know... get punched till she died...
example 2.
Not SAYING BUGGY WINS!
He will just slip out of her grasp at will simply because he can fall apart. This would make her have to improve upon her brute strength in each blow to a level of at least Gomu gomu no Pistol. 1000 pistols punches to the face isnt a joke.
Franky - A cyborg that uses his hidden weapons to blow apart his oppenents
His iron body becomes a weakness and his slowness makes him an easy target. this would force Franky into a tatical situation that could bring about a strengthed skill level in Franky Tenkai
Example 2.
A man who was running for 2 years. Sanji being able to out last franky would force him to overcome his fuel limitations to continue fighting.
Brook - A skeleton that Is basically immortal. His fencing style and soul solid are his biggest allies. Oh and the fact that you cant kill him unless you break all 205 of his horcux style bones. He uses music to beat his opponents aswell.
Brook uses his sword in major conflicts. Him meeting a swords man he cant beat would force him to expound upon his other abilities like his musical hypnotizing and his DF. Zoro would push him to the point where he would need to use all the tricks the Yomi yomi no mi would afford him.
Example 2.
The admiral cant fall for his illusions and wouldnt be overwhelmed by sword strikes from brook. The only way brook could win is if he used the yomi yomi no mi with the skill of a master. (all dfs can be strong as long as you use them right.)
What'd think.
