Can Madara do a last minute swap with his Limbo clones to save himself?

Is that an aspect of Limbo; to swap with one of the shadows at your will?

If it is or might be, when Madara tapped the ground he might have prepared/stabilised his limbo clones for backup, and will now use them just before black Zetsu takes over?

Black Zetsu will then successfully take over his current vessel and Kaguya will emerge, and then Madara might form a few metres away but without his Juubi powers (as BZ took over his jinchuuriki and shinju enfused body). He'll only have his rinnegan (which isn't a problem as Kaguya only has byakugan + 3rd eye) and his Hashi face, and will team up with Naruto and Sasuke to kill Kaguya.

Sound possible?

I agree he did tap the ground before black zetsu touched him.madara said he couldn't move though so how could he perform a jutsu? theres no telling how much chakra he used to turn the moon into genjutsu

Doesn't he already have his limbo clones out? I think they need to be within him in order for him to switch out with them.
