On paper the Sharingan is superior in my opinion. However, in a battle the Byakugan is more useful in my opinion. The Sharingan is the superior eye but its not just eyes that win battles. The users of the Byakugan incorporated a fighting style with their eye that puts it on par with the normally superior Sharingan, the Gentle Fist. The Uchihas fighting style sort of comes with their eye, copying another jutsu, but this does not always work out because if they don't have what it takes to use a technique they can't copy it like for example: "A uses water style" "B sees it with his Sharingan and tries to copy" ''B can't copy it because he possesses a fire style nature & not water".
The Byakugan users Gentel Fist rely only on the user. All substances made of chakra are destroyed with the Gentel Fist. Since all ninjutsu are made from chakra, most of them can be destroyed with the Gentle Fist if they possess a physical substance, like jutsu based around the 5 nature elements.
So whats better in battle, Byakugan or Sharingan?
