first of all sorry I don't make many threads so this might be bad.
my theory is what if all along the curse of hatred was never one that stemmed from the uchiha clan or even from indra but from kaguya,
first if we look back the sage and his brother fought the jubbi then after the sage had two sons 1. indra 2. ashura and from them came 4 clans, from indra the hyuga and uchiha, from ashura the senju and uzumaki, yet why out of the four clans was only one filled with hatred? the answers simple because of kaguya!!!
I believe that all along the jubbi that the sage stopped was merely kaguya in a tailed beast form and after sealing away the jubbi kaguya was sealed yet left behind was her will that clinged to the sage waiting for a way to free herself and with time she chose indra!!!!
now why indra and not ashura after all ashura held great potential too it's simple whats needed for IT....... THE SHARINGHAN, indra who possessed the eyes of the sage who he himself held the eyes of his mother was the perfect vessel so with time kaguyas will chipped away at the uchiha bloodline waiting for and twisting them until one with enough hatred came along.
also it's strange as the uchiha who treasure love above all else as there beginning indra may have possessed even greater love and it was only due to the sage neglecting indra was kaguya able to inflict her will into indra and twist his love of others into hatred which inflicted his desendents.
my second theory is why is it that the descendants of indra who was said by the sage to hold such power that ashura needed the help of others to reach his strength (not bashing ashura he seems sick) are un doubtable weaker it's because I think that kaguya has been weaking them through out the years and even now possesses a hold on the reincarnations of indra such as sasukes massive mood swing in the new chap, I think that happened due to kaguya twisting the uchiha love in to hate, and as she begins to return I expect a bigger change in sasuke.
ow also one last thing maybe sasuke has one rinnegan as kaguya hold on indra reincarnation may have weakened him after all I'm a sasuke fan but even I can see he is lacking compared to naruto, and what the manga has repeatable stated TWO EYES ARE NEEDED TO REACH FULL STRENGTH or maybe it's cause madara's alive that he is weaker as a part of indra chakra is stuck and sasuke is incomplete so it would be sick if when madara dies sasuke through chakra transfer gains madara techniques and knowledge.
