As the title says. And I am basing this on 2 facts.
1. In this very chapter we find out that every life person on the planet is under the IT. And as Sasuke states only a Rinnegan can counter a jutsu, created with a Rinnegan. Which basically means the ONLY person able to release everyone is Sasuke. I don't see Kaguya doing this kindness and I can't imagine Madara doing it (although Kishi could prove me wrong yet again).
2. Way, way, way back, after killing Danzo and after Tobi stops the battle between Kakashi, Sakura and Naruto vs. Sasuke, it is stated that "If Naruto and Sasuke fight, they would both die". Now I believe (and this is simply my take on the issue) it has always been Kishi's desire to end the series with a fight between Naruto and Sasuke.
Now let's look at where we stand:
Sasuke, Naruto and the Edo Hokages are the only shinobi, able to fight Kaguya and BZ (I exclude Kakashi and Sakura). A possible configuration might be Sasuke&Naruto vs. Kaguya and Edo Hokages (-Hashirama and Minato)vs. BZ.
Here is where the plot twist enters. After Kaguya's imminent defeat (because let's face it: she is bound to be defeated) Sasuke will be the ONLY one able to release all the shinobi from the IT. But what if he refuses to do it?
Let's analise this:
Sasuke's life hasn't really been that great. Lost his family, his entire clan. The killer was his own brother. He ahd to kill his brother and then had to learn the truth about the events. His life and the life of his clan and brother were sacrificed for the sake of the village. Although one could argue that the Uchiha had it coming, people died that day.
I believe Nagato once said: "Hatred breaths hatred. It is a never-ending cycle" He himself lost his family to leaf shinobi.
He then lost his friend to those very same shinobi (yes the Leaf's anbu under Danzo's command). I know it didn't go exactly that way but it is the main catalyst.
So let's conclude that the 'frail' world everyone lives in is a never-ending cycle of hatred and death.
What possibility is there? Well Nagato wanted to change the world using the power of the 9 Tailed beasts. Obito wanted to do the same thin, only a tad bit different. And in the end Madara accomplished that idea. He put every human being on the planet under a never-ending Genjustu. Everyone is currently living their ideal life, full of happiness. No sadness, no death - only joy and laughter. In a way we can interpret that as a 'perfect world'.
Getting back to the point. What if Sasuke doesn't want to change the world anymore? What if (in the following chapters) he decides to leave everyone in the Genjutsu? No more fighting, no more deaths, no more lives ruined. A possible 'Uchiha Incident' could be avoided.
To wrap things up: Sasuke refuses to release everyone from the Genjutsu. Who is there to stop him? Only Naruto could match him at this point. And that is how we get that Naruto vs. Sasuke battle-to-the-death.
Off-topic: this is my first thread so excuse me if I did it wrongly. Please give feedback and share your opinions on the matter.
