What the heck did Sasuke tell the Sage of Six Paths?

He tells the entirety of team 7 to shut up, and acts like their completely useless (which they are, besides Naruto of course). This attitude really doesn't coincide with what the sage wants.

What could he have possibly told the sage to gain his trust when he does crap like this? The same sage who pushes for unity and cooperation among ninja.


*Don't get me wrong, I am a Sasuke fan, but I am fairly confused.

I wouldn't imagine someone as wise as the sage could not see through what Sasuke said. But it really makes me want to know what Sasukes true answer is.

I've always felt that Sasuke said something along the lines that he wishes to stop the current struggle for power and wants to prevent what happened to his brother in the future. Sasuke doesn't want people to have to make that sacrifice the way his brother did. He doesn't want a situation like Madara, someone who wishes well but goes about it in such a bad way. He's protecting what Itachi wished to protect. I think Sasuke told the Sage something along these lines. Sasuke is still acting as an Indra reincarnation though but he's accepting the help of Naruto as well. Sasuke is taking over the show so that others won't suffer like he suffered from the impossible decision Itachi had to make. He's doing everything alone (with Naruto) so that others won't have to struggle.

I wonder if what his real intentions were is what he told the sage? We all know he's hiding something. I suspect whatever he said, the sage is counting on Naruto to stop him once it's over. Just like the brothers.

Don't confuse the western concept of Sage with the Eastern one. Sage is Hinduism or Buddhism is not all goody-goody. He is a man,who is a perfect balance of Light and Darkness,Warmth and Coldness,etc. He is good for good and evil for evil. He isn't bound by the very notions of human relationship or seven deadly sins. He doesn't act out of emotion for his own sake, but for the world. He saves a poor soul but doesn't think twice before killing the evil.

So yeah,if the sage liked positive attitude of Naruto, there is no reason to disregard the fact that he didn't like Sasuke's answer of darkside,maybe. And really sasuke just stated the harsh truth.
