I disagree completely with you on this. And to your last point, that's the problem I have with shonen. I love the goofy comedy, but i hate the idealistic bullshit. It's not easy to find a series that has the cruel reality of the world you get in seinen with the light-hearted comedy you get in shonen.
Killing doesn't bring people back, but it brings closure. It's one thing for the mother to want to kill the family of her son's killer as payback, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the mother killing her son's killer and only her son's killer to not only get closure, but to bring the same fate her son received to her killer. It's simple eye for an eye.
You're acting like I'm cheapening the feelings of people like Jiraiya and Shusui, but they were cheap to begin with. Just look at the real world and understand there will never be true peace. There may be lengthy periods of peace, but at some point there will be conflict. And sometimes it's nobody's fault. Perhaps you have an awful earthquake that displaces a half million people, and conflict comes from that. The mindset shouldn't be world peace, the mindset is to create as little conflict as possible and do the best to set the next generation up to have a village that has minimal conflict.
To me, instead of doing what Naruto's doing, Naruto should be taking the reins as hokage and creating peace from the power he has. That's the only way it'll work. Naruto has to put aside his emotional feelings and set firm rules and boundaries. He should execute Sasuke,Orochimaru, and Kabuto along with anyone affiliated with the akatsuki. It's even easier for Naruto since he's so much more powerful than the rest of the konoha shinobi, and I think it was total bullshit to give Sasuke any kind of powerup.
The only way to create peace is to make it yourself, you can't just talk it out. That's how you end up getting stabbed in the back. Set a firm foot down and don't **** it all up the way Hiruzen did. It's that simple, but even then, there will be conflict. That's why it's Naruto's job as leader to keep things under control. A benevolent monarch/dictator is the type of rule in any society, especially when the ruler is far more powerful than anyone else, ie Naruto as a jinchuriki. And you'd hope you can unite the warring states the way Qin did in ancient China. Just this idealistic nonsense is just asking for trouble.
That would only happen in a Seinen manga.
The idealistic bullshit you refer to is quite common in a Shonen manga.
No, peace can't be achieved with power. Kaguya tried that, Madara is trying that, and he will fail.
The concept of peace is a very complex thing to discuss.
True, peace can't be achieved in the real world, as long as living being reign on it.
And, this is fiction.
Where, a villain uses Susano'o without eyes, can control the world, can summon a giant humanoid, can create meteorities, etc...then why can't Naruto achieve peace with his method? It all boils down to fiction.
Don't try to apply real world logic lol.
