I really think asuma is not quite fodder kishi made him to be. Inkow its good his death did well for his students but. For him to die to hidan shitty like dat so soon in the story,
Kinda make me think he was just cut out by kishi.

But why should u cut out one of konohas top jo's without a paid for battle liie hiruzens was. Asuma use wind and fire plus wind brassknukels(op) im sure asuma goimg all out is nice..

He may not be a might gai but he would have done better fighitng in the war and die to kakuzu then or something. Then have ino-shika-cho cut the **** up

eh, asuma was non essential, just like kurenai,, asuma only role was to improve shikamarus character traits, same goes for kurenai. Notice iruka and ramen guy have had like 2 or 3 appearances since shippuden started...non essentials
