In this thread, I say why I truly believe Obito could reach Rikudou Sennin level alone. I think that all you need is to AWAKE your powers. Indra or Ashura don't choose people, people choose them.

Kaguya had two sons. We all know that. It even looks like her kids fought against her on berserk mode to save the world, just like Naruto and Sasuke are doing right now against Madara.

Byakugan went down to the Hyuuga's through Rikudou's Sennin brother. That was all he passed for the next generation.

And while Rikudou Sennin left Sharingan to Indra, Ashura was left with NOTHING at birth.

But Ashura had the other power of Hagoramo: Rikudoou Sennin WILL. Maybe that's why WILL OF FIRE is omnipresent in Kohana, something that follow RS words and intention from the very beggning.

Ashura strenght came later, from hard-working, from the power of union and care for others. After recognize that, Rikudou himself left the bijuu's under Ashura responsability. Rikudou could have passed his chakra to Ashura, too, just like we saw Hashirama doing with Sasuke some chapters ago.

This way, I believe that Indra could achieve Rikudou level, if he had trust in his comrades and stuff like that. The same would happen if Obito haven't "died" in the bridge mission. He was born Uchiha, he had the eyes already. I'm pretty sure he would awake the Rinnegan by himself with time - reaching Rikudou level if he had a bijuu.

I believe this theory is confirmed when we look at those images:

Even not being Ashura's reincarnation, Obito's essence made his staff looks like the full moon (Ashura's), while Madara has the waning moon (Indra's).

Since everyone have chakra, I truly believe that all you need is to AWAKE your powers. Pretty much Indra or Ashura don't choose people, people's will is what choose Indra or Ashura.

Obito had Madara's black rod (chakra) and Hashirama's senju cells (chakra).

So technically Indra and Asura's chakra was in him through a transplant perspective.

He already told Konan that he has the sage's chakra/power.

That's why Madara was able to teach him those Justus.

Rikudou Obito is the closest to the sage that we will ever see in his incarnation.

He had the sage's senjustu and the one rinnegan on his left eye.

That's closer than current naruto and Sasuke individually

the fact that Ashura had already transmigrated from Hashirama when he died makes this point moot.

Madara is because he was the only one of the 2 the manga actually established as being a Rikudou. There is no such thing as Rikudou Obito.

Except that the next incarnation was naruto and Sasuke, they weren't born yet.

We don't even know when Hashirama died.

I know that...

I meant that Rikudou Obito is the highest incarnation that he will ever get.

Current Obito is below that now.

Obito placed second after Madara.

even so, when a transmigrate dies, their respective incarnation leaves. Hagoromo implies this when he refers to the inability of Indra's chakra to move onward to a new person because of Madara refusing to die. The transmigrates don't necessarily have to be born at exactly the same time seeing as though Sasuke is 6 months older than Naruto.

We don't even know when Hashirama died.
a number of things point towards it being the 1st Great Shinobi War: the fact that he was old enough to know who Hiruzen was, that the first 2 Kage of all 5 of the major villages died during that time frame, and Hashirama's reaction when he was summoned back in P1.

Ahh this is interesting, maybe this is why Sasuke has a bad attitude in part, because of Madara clinging onto the same soul as him (maybe it's split in two as seen in the Inuyasha anime) leading to the bad feelings Madara died with moving on to Sasuke.

Obito might be closer to Kaguya than to the Sage of Six Paths actually because he seems to be a mix of Uchiha (bad feelings/crushed-emotionally and literally), yet with the personality of Naruto an Uzimaki (hard work and making things right).

k, i see what you were getting at.

Well if that was the case, Madara would of never awaken the rinnegan.

Since Indra's incarnation was still present, Asuhra's was absent.

Which event was the first shinobi war?

Tobirama was dead before Hiruzen was made kage, and Hashirama was nowhere to be found.

Madara case pretty much makes it all fit.

His eyes was still out there.

Sasuke was already born.

Even so, Sasuke were able to awaken Indra's powers. This pretty much says there can be more than one person awakening the brothers powers at the same era.
