Probably ones that can somewhat progress the plot of the story, add some sort of character to events, people, etc, (example, twelve guardian shinobi arc, made me give a damn about Asuma ahead of time), addition of some humor, action, good quality artwork and animation and most importantly, KEEP IT SHORT!!! not too much to ask for.

Exploring character dynamics that aren't seen that often/at all in canon is nice. I just want to see more interactions between the canon cast. I don't give a damn about any characters that were created exclusively to be filler.

I typically like the slice of life type fillers more than the serious ones, though.
