We've never seen Katsuyu bleed, impaled, show any signs of distress/pain or any visible damage.
She's never needed to heal herself through this entire manga nor has she.

Without Byakugou you cannot summon Katsuyu.
Tsunade's Byakugou in your scan was running out -> Katsuyu was almost gone.
Katsuyu HERSELF couldn't recover Kage faster because she didn't want the connection to break and thereby make her disappear.
Katsuyu clearly said she could use HER power according to Tsunade's Byakugou.

But Tsunade has said on different occasions to katsuya to use her chakra to heal people. In pain arc, and in the war arc she and sakura healed through the foothold using their seals again.

It's their medical chakra. Katsuya is not a medically inclined creature until further notice, not to mention shizune was surprised sakura was skilled ennough to pull off remote healing. If the slug was just using their chakra and performing the medical stuff herself there would be no need for tsunade or sakura to concentrate. It's probably one of the greatest medical feats to be able to heal remotely.

The healing was slow because there was not much power in the seal for the remote healing to work fast enough. Tsunade was still very much conscious so there's no proof she was not doing it. I assume orochimaru was talking about the fact that katsuya being around mean tsunade wouldnt have to heal 1 by 1 or 2 by 2 and it's normally quick.

Katsuya heals through the chakra Tsunade gives to her and chakra is used to perform medical ninjutsu and Tsunade/Sakura do concentrate to perform these healings.

Leads to the question why call it remote healing if they aren't really doing any healing remotely to be technical.

Yes, yes we did but even if it was not them healing Sakura still > Shizune because she has the better chakra control. Experience only comes with time and in the manga we can't really judge what sakura/shizune can and cannot do so i can only imply after what shizune said.

Sorry but to me theres no contest anymore between Sakura and Shizune. Shes probably top 5 (excluding Naruto because he isn't a medic ninja, just a badass so6p reincarnate) but not near Sakura now. Sakura i personally find better than Tsunade due to her actions lately, especially keeping Naruto alive and being able to use byakou without aging (i think thats how you say it) She is also smart, and can handle combat (though not to the extent of her teammates, obviously)

Well, manga proves that Yin Seal is is a link between a summonner and Katsuyu. Without having achieved it - you cannot summon Katsuyu. Without releasing it - you cannot use her healing powers.

Well then the manga contradicts itself. Orochimau was fully aware of Katsuyu's healing abilities yet he has never seen Tsunade's Byakugou seal and her Sozo Saize because she developed them after leaving the village.

Well, there are 3 possible explanations:

1. Plot hole.

Or simply you are wrong. The Byakugou seal is only needed to use the remote healing. it has nothing to do with summoning the slug.

But to me, there's too much evidence that Katsuyu is completely dependant on Yin Seal.
