DBZ, there is no competition. The animation for the Naruto fights are very displeasing not to mention the very generic movements, but the action of the manga is better than than the anime version of Naruto.

Personally I like Naruto's fighting better due to the fact that a ton of fights have explanations and and each user has unique techniques as well as crazy strategies. DBZ got more action though.

Hmm the final uncut fight against frieza when both are going all out was the best action wise in my opinion. Naruto's action was more technical initially, now the fights are more flashy but less technical. I remember seeing the zabuza fight for the first time and really loving it cause of the different techniques being used and all the ninja trickery.

Tactical stuff is not defined as action though? Even by defenition dbz would be superior in terms of action though I find it interesting that I the only one pointing this out. I guess I'm the only one who knows about this fact.

I'll have to re watch that, right now my mind is telling me that one was garbage. But, I dont remember how that one went down.

Naruto begins to get reckt, but then he starts kicking Gaara's ass.
Then Gaara rages and goes full on beast mode.
Naruto summons the giant toad, but the toad has to transform into something with "claws and fangs"
So Naruto makes him transform into the 9 tails and Naruto finishes it with a headbutt to the face
Classic fight, A+

I prefer Naruto.
Even though i enjoy DBZ's action, i think its too straightforward and basic to be considered anything great. Whoever has the bigger power level wins, which is quite boring.
In Naruto strategy plays a much stronger role, the possibilities are endless and anybody could win given the right scenario.

Naruto has to catch up to Bleach in action before getting compared to DBZ. The only thing that impressed me in the anime recently was Madara summoning meteors.

I will agree with you on that, Bleach had some great action scenes. The Aizen saga was one of the best anime sagas I've ever seen.
But then they ruined it afterward when Ichigo got nerfed

the fight whith raditz explain that one. not all fights in dbz are that way.

I prefer Naruto's early action to DBZs, and I'm a huge fan of DBZ, however as shippuuden went on I started to dislike the fighting in this series more and more. I think since about when Sasuke got the MS and Naruto received the Kyuubi cloak the fighting in Naruto just hasn't been very enjoyable to me, too much megazord shit or spamming of the same abilities. So I definitely prefer DBZ to that.

I stopped watching after the Aizen saga, but I tried to get into reading it around the middle of the arc but I just couldn't catch up
