Reason of itachi's illness_ theory

I had a thought about Itachi's illness!
Could it be that Itachi was the previous reincarnation of Indra but because he decided not to let hate consume him, that had a detrimental effect on his health leading to his death?

( i know that the sage said that madara was the previous reincarnation, but I thought that the above could be a rational explanation for his disease!)

Mmmm It's a decent theory, but its a bit far-fetched lols. Hagoromo also stated Madara was the previous incarnation, not Itachi. I'd say he didn't have the body or genetic makeup to handle the MS abilities and that made him sick. It could have been the same for Kimimaro. There's also the MS effecting any and all bodies if it is not eternal as the same thing happened to Sasuke and especially Madara. It stated and showed illness struck Madara in his body as well.

Itachi's only symptom was coughing up blood, that resembles Tuberculosis in real life or a variety of cardiovascular diseases. But it wasn't. It was just plot so that Kishimoto could nerf him and he would die.
