Itachi talked about surpassing Madara. Even if he was just pretending to be interested in that, do you think he was entirely bluffing? Or is there possibly some truth to it?
I mean, let's just say Itachi was able to find a way to cure himself of AIDS. Let's say he never had to die. Let's say he and Sasuke traded eyes peaceably (Sasuke's eyes having more potential than Itachi's; emphasized on more than one occasion) to obtain Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. Let's say he got his crow back from Naruto and lived long enough for Kotoamatsukami to become usable again. And finally, let's say he happened to come across some Senju/Hashirama DNA and potentially get himself a pair of Rinnegan.
Do you think that, for all the power-ups Itachi could've conceivably accessed, and with a few more years in his prime, that he could've truly ever surpassed Madara? Or did he simply not have that potential?
I'm only being semi-wankish. I'm also actually semi-curious, so don't take this as a troll thread. Try to be good sports about it.
