At this precise point in time, yeah you are absolutely right. But he wasn't always like this-he let his emotions get the better of him whenever it was related to Itachi. But now he's slowly changing........
I agree with all of this but Sasuke has changed a lot since Itachi's death, I don't think this applies any more. It's beyond my own comprehension why I'm even going to bother replying to a thread like this as it utterly pointless. Most posts of this thread already prove that instead of talking about the subject at hand, it are people who just want to bash/lure other people for whatever reason or are just drooling over the thread because their favorite character is being praised and that's all that matters. As long as they can keep the imaginary fantasy up of a character they created themselves in their heads loosely based on a character from a series, but prepare for war when someone actually bursts their bubble.
Objective - (of a person or their judgment) not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts.
What? I mean what? Did you actually bother to read the series? Or tried to understand the character Sasuke is at all? Not influenced by personal feelings? Sasuke has only been influenced by personal feelings, which lead him to be manipulated over and over again. First his own brother sends him on the path of revenge. Sasuke gave everything up just to kill him, even made a deal with the devil and then when he finally kills Itachi, an extremely shady and untrustworthy character tells him his brother was faking the entire thing and that in fact the Konoha elders were responsible for it all. And what does Sasuke? Suddenly he remembers his brother crying, knows it is true, makes a 180° turn and goes on a quest against Konoha to avenge his brother...which he killed himself after having been consumed by that thought for years. He then starts killing the Konoha elders, tries to kill his former friends...and eventually decides he wants to become Hokage. What?
Itachi even said it, Sasuke is a blank page. He has been the toy of countless of other characters that had completely contradictional goals. And then you call him 'objective, not influenced by personal feelings or opinions'? The only thing he has been is being led by his own personal feelings and being influenced by other people's opinions.
Realistic - having or showing a sensible and practical idea of what can be achieved or expected.
Aims to kill his genius brother, something even Orochimaru wasn't capable of. A very unrealistic thought, but still acceptable. Then finally kills him, but fails to notice his brother actually let him win. Then decides to attack Konoha. Yeah, he is going to take down a village that consists of around 15 000 shinobi. Then changes his mind and attacks the kage summit, thinking he somehow can take down all the kage. Finally he aims to become the kage of the village he tried to destroy and of which he killed on of the leaders. What?
Yeah, very realistic and having a sensible idea of what can be achieved.
Decisive - settling an issue; producing a definite result.
When he sets his eyes on something, during the process of trying to achieve it he has been going to excessive lengths, even trying to kill people who cared deeply for him. However someone who first works years to kill his brother, but then when he just did it decides in a matter of almost minutes he wants to avenge him because of some stuff someone who he doesn't even know said and then halfway through stops again with that for other stuff and eventually then decides to become hokage, the term 'whimsical' is probably a lot closer to the truth than 'decisive'. Because Sasuke lost all touch with realism and objectivity and frankly didn't even know anymore what to do, he became so mentally unstable he should have been in a hospital. He stabbed Karin and tried to kill Sakura with a psychotic smile on his face talking to his brother, the brother who wanted to save him.
If Sasuke really was realistic, objective and decisive, he would have never left Konoha. Then he would have realized that there is nothing on the path of revenge. That would have been the most objective conclusion. Then he could have been decisive by saying he would not listen at all to Itachi and that he would just live his life with his friends or at least how he wanted without being influecned by people like Orochimaru and then a lot of problems could have been avoided. But of course that's not how you write a story, doing the rational, objective thing without doubts would be boring.
It's completely beyond me how you could possibly call a character that had such a complex development, that continuously conflicted with his own self and more than once made 180° turns, as being rational, objective and decisive. It's even more beyond me what kind of point there was in making a thread about to say he is supposedly rational, objective and decisive and don't let me even begin on the people who start bowing down and go all "finally, a thread that praises Sasuke". Like that's new.
I don't even have a favorite character nor a character that I particularly hate. Every character has its own good points as shortcomings and Sasuke is the character that probably had the most turbulent development. So it's really sad that I apparently understand him better than all the people who placed him on a pedestal and find it necessary to call an imaginary character of a manga 'lord' and the people who find it necessary to use derogatory terms like 'Sasugay'.
Shame on you all. If most of you would actually bother discussing characters and the story as they are instead of being busy all the time with donning your own favorites with divine powers and perfection, while hating and stepping on others, then we could actually have some meaningful debates without hate. But no, instead we get...this.
Everyone let their emotions decide what they do. 100% of them including you. So when people say "not letting emotion dictate one's action", its actually mean "at the current situation" or at "certain situation". If you want to base all on a person's entire life history, then "not letting one's emotion influence himself" can not apply to a soul, then no one should even speak of such statement. And since such statement used often and believed to be applicable; therefore this accusing on sasuke is invalid U_UHe's not objective or realistic. That's what I disagree with. The rest is true. Sasuke lets his emotions decide his actions a ton. He also had an expectation that killing off the leaf village would somehow restore the Uchiha's honor. We don't even know what his current objective is. For all we know, it's stupid.
However, Sasuke is smart, and I agree with the rest of what you've said.
Is this a mod...................baiting?lol Why bother indeed if you think about the crazy fans obsessed with power ups and fancy weapons running around screaming for their lord. But it was a nice post for a change- it has been a long time when I actually enjoyed a post about Sasuke. So thanks.

That's what I'm talking about. When people use the word "objective", it refers to an intented event or circumstance. When people spoke of sasuke being objective, mostly referring to his calm nature during most of his battle(NOT ALL). Like I said, fault founders would bring up a total different scenario which is not what the original person referring toIs this a mod...................baiting?
I'm teasing, but in all seriousness, that's kinda generalizing.
He's not objective no matter how you look at it. If he were objective, then right off the bat, he would not have attempted to attack the village, but instead helped defend it as per Itachi's wishes. (I even made a meme making fun of this) Whenever he feels a strong emotion, he'll act on it pure and simple. For instance, his obsession with loneliness=power. The fact that, instead of having companions to help him (Naruto and Sakura), he decided to abandon him in favor of learning from a master he can't trust. In fact, he even said this.

Yes, he's clearly objective. Also, so objective that he refused to get a power boost(MS) by killing Naruto at VOTE.
Also, posting your observations that doesn't support a character /=/accusing the character.
I think it would have restored their honor being that it was lost to the leaf. The worst thing that Uchiha did was join the senju to make the village nothing but bad things happened to them since joiningHe's not objective or realistic. That's what I disagree with. your views are a bit biased and one sided. sasuke clan gets killed off by his brother, he then makes it his goal to revenge his clans honour by killing iff itachi. he devotes his entire life towrds achieving that, he leaves the village for oro to get stronger, he finally does then he seemingly achieve his goal as itachi dies. sasuke now has achieved his aim only for a stranger pretending to be madara to come and tell him that hes bro was ordered all along to kill of the clan to protect the village. this means his whole life was a lie, he was lied to by the village. could you imagine the distress sasuke will be feeling now, that the village he grew up with is actually responsible for his clans murder, and his parents. so you want sasuke to just blindly follow itachi wishes by protecting the village while sparing the village higher ups who commited mass genocide against his people. so what sasuke is feeling shouldnt matter right, he should just accept itachis wishes like that. if anything that is a selfish ask. sasuke is sasuke, he is not itachi, sasuke stands for his clan while itachi stands for the village. the villages elders should not be allowed to get away with what they did and sasuke has every justification to kill them(elders) afterall konoha is no saint village. Is this a mod...................baiting?

Amazing post, spot-on character analysis, relevant to the storyline and logic. PLEASE PLEASE read this post instead of just complaining or praising Sasuke; this basically sums up his "character development" so far and shows some of the holes in his stability. It's beyond my own comprehension why I'm even going to bother replying to a thread like this as it utterly pointless.
