Is Yamato conscious?

I want to believe that he is since he's been gone so long so we could get some dialogue from him. I'm not sure if the Spiral Zetsu was ejecting him or if he was leaping out of it himself. What do you guys think?

What I'm wondering is was yamato still unconscious from that drug kabuto used on him and did spiral zetsu pull yamto out of that statue and wrap himself around him thus using yamato's unconscious body.
