Nah I have to disagree. It was stated plenty times that it would cost your Life. It also seems logical to me since you give someones Life back in exchange of your life. I mean you literally give your life to someone so it makes sence that you die in the process.

Obito wasn't dying because of Rinne tensei he just had the Tail beast ripped from him then had Madara summon the gedou from his body. to say you guys are seeing it from the readers perspective, you sure don't seem to know whats going on

This technique seemingly requires a massive amount of chakra, risking death in the process, as Konan feared the worst for Nagato when he used it after having previously expended so much chakra.

it's not 100% sure you'll die... it was only because both Obito AND Nagato had very very very low chakra amounts left.

Rinne Tensai DOES kill depending on who you are reviving.

If you revive someone who wasn't dead for too long, it costs relatively less chakra(i.e people of konoha). But to revive someone like Madara who was dead for decades, it would cost exponentially more chakra. Manga already stated- "Obito would die if he used Rinne Tensai to revive Madara".(cbb quoting the manga page and scan)

Also, don't forget Nagato has more chakra than Obito since he was able to withstand 2x Rinnegan eyes whereas Obito admitted his limit was one.
