Surpassing DBZ in terms of story is a very easy thing to do, DBZ is overrated anyways IMO but it was cool when I was a kid, there are much better mangas/animes out there.
Kishimoto did a great job with part 1 but part 2 is full of inconsistencies, plot holes, and it even feels like it was written by someone else rather than kishimoto himself, he trolled many characters, hiruzen for example, hell it even feels like the writer for part 2 is an uchiha fanboy lol.

Just watch part 1 and then part 2, it feels like he forgot about many things that were said in part 1.

I'd reply to this with a rational comment that sticks to the topic, but I'm unsure of the OP's seriousness in this thread.

Same here ;)
But DBZ only had emotional scene during Goku sacrificing himself to save Gohan and others against exploding cell. Other than that there were only battles.
You forget Vegeta's sacrifice against Buu. One of the most epic scenes I've ever seen.

OT: Yes, I agree. Looking past a few, mainly subjective flaws, Naruto is an amazing series.

Naruto teaches very valuable lessons that you can apply to your every day life.
The story is so very captivating and it evokes so much emotion from the readers. That is why I honestly think Naruto is the next Dragon Ball Z and that it even surpassed it in terms of a quality story line. This is evident due to the number of Naruto fans brought together on this site and even various other sites.

I never 'almost cried' to a fictional story in my life and have never been so drawn to the characters.
Naruto is what made me a nerd lol.
What about you?

Thats what i always try telling people... But then they just quickly label me and anyone else who says so a fanboy U_U

It honestly depends on what you're searching for. In terms of character development I'd say definitely not. But the story is inspiring, however, and you can learn from it. The plot has its up and downs.

i disagree.!!

in DBZ, the only emotional moments were upto the end of frieza's arc...after that you just watch it for awesome fights.!!

If Attack On Titan keeps this level up. It's going to be hard to stay at that spot for him. AoT is already considered one of the best animes of all time, just with 25 episodes and 57 manga chapters.
But still Naruto is still the best at the moment.

yeah its the typical fallback response.

I noticed that alot lately, especially since the site had a influx of new members.Too many "Don't like, don't read, why are you still here then?" or any of the above seems to come from those who can't handle opinions they don't like.

No story is perfect and Naruto isn't an exception, but looking back at everything Kishimoto has created in this series, he surely comes off as an exceptional Mangaka to me.
His main strength in story-telling is creating multidimensional villains with the ideals reminiscent to romanticism - witnessing the cruelness of the world, and at the same time losing all faith in it. Kishimoto has portrayed mature themes in the disguise of the "Manga for kids", and those very themes are the ones that inspired me and took a special place in my memory, a place, they'll always hold...
For me, Masashi Kishimoto is an inspirational writer, with the talent of drawing.

He surely is a good one, and definitely one of the best when it comes to pure artistic skill, but there are better. However, I do agree on the sentiment that Naruto is the next DBZ. Don't get me wrong; One Piece is King of Japan. But DBZ was big worldwide. Everyone knows about it. Naruto has that same worldwide reach when it comes to sales, marketing (numerous games just like how DBZ has numerous games) and overall popularity. Naruto will go down as a legend just as DBZ has and will be timeless.
