Hi guys :hi:
Today I want to discuss about the Hokage dream which our heroes, Naruto and Sasuke, wish for.

Let's talk about the reasons behind Naruto's dream to become Hokage.

- He was hated by the villagers because of the Kyuubi sealed inside him. And hence he wanted to be acknowledged by the people. This could happen only if he becomes Hokage (according to Naruto)
- He got acknowledged by the people after defeating Pain.
- He was entrusted Peace by Jiraiya. This responsibility got added to his dream when he met Nagato.
- He still had the responsibility of saving his best friend Sasuke and bring him back to the village until then he doesn't intend to become Hokage.
- Later on, Obito waged a war on the five great nations. The Kages came to believe that Naruto is the savior of this world who is responsible to bring them together in a way.
- Naruto wants to change the shinobi system and maintain peace among every village by becoming Hokage.

Let's talk about the reasons behind Sasuke's Will to become Hokage.

Note : It's still unclear whether he really wants to become Hokage or not. But I'm assuming that he wants to.
- Sasuke's mindset changed when he got to know every truth behind Itachi still calling himself as one of the Leaf's Shinobi.
- He got to know how the foundations of Leaf was done. What is meant to be Hokage.
- In th end, he came to an understanding that whatever has happened until now, all the Hokages, from 1st to 5th, did everything for the sake of the village and to protect it's people. But along with their contributions and sacrifices they also made enemies like Madara, Obito as well as the other villages.
- He wants to chance the system of Leaf because of which in the future, there won't arise another Madara or Obito or Itachi. A system which won't be bothered by other villages. In a way, he's believing the Hokages of the village as well as the village to be responsible for everything but also an important village to remain in existence. He can achieve this by becoming Hokage.

In a way, both Naruto and Sasuke has correct reasons to become Hokage. But Naruto is considering the understanding between the villages because he lost his close people (Jiraiya, Sasuke, Minato and Kushina) because of the both inside as well as outside people. Whereas Sasuke's reasons seems more focused only on the Hidden Leaf Village. He's not concerned with what the other people (inside as well as outside) as well as villages would think about him.

Thank You for reading.

I don't really think their reasons make them qualified for the job. If those really are Naruto's reasons for wanting to be hokage could they get any more cheesy.

What do you mean?

Their reasons are worthy of approval to make them qualified for the job because they are powerful as well as they are hoping Good for the village. But even if they are qualified, they need approval.

A goal is a better word instead of dream referring to Sasuke; However, I see Sasuke having better reasons to be Hokage. Unlike Naruto, like pretty much every person in Konoha wants to be Hokage to protect his village and acknowledged, which is good, but Naruto thinks Hokage were hero when in reality, they weren't. Sasuke wanted to become Hokage, because he saw that they were the people responsible for the destruction, carry his brother's dream, and change the system in his way.

Sasuke's goal and reasons are more realistic.

Shouldn't hokages be smart and have the skills required for the job, the reasons for wanting to be hokage shouldn't be all it takes.

Hokage's were hero that's why they managed to protect it. It's just they had to chose between the village and their own problems. Naruto's goal as well as Sasuke's goal will bring up those difficult options once again. Don't you think that sasuke's way has the more chances of repeating the history?

I think Naruto is already thinking beyond the village/hokage level, meaning that he sees beyond the confines of the village and wants to protect all shinobi. Sasuke, who once was focused only on his clan, now seems to be focused on building and protecting the village. Sasuke is more suited for the role of Hokage now.

Hashirama - Failed to make sure Madara died, didn't think about giving Bijuu that would cause wars, and didn't make sure Tobirama follows his wishes (Uchiha discrimination)

Tobirama - Constantly put down the Uchiha which lead to their massacre, and didn't make ET too secretive.

Hiruzen - Let Orochimaru roam free and do his experiments, let Danzo what he wants to do, and too weak to stop the Uchiha.

Sasuke believes he can change everything by himself. In that way he is the same as Madara and will never become Hokage.

HASHIRAMA : He decided to kill Madara and chose the village.
TOBIRAMA : Decided to sacrifice to save the new generation of the village.
HIRUZEN : Decided (at the last moment) to kill his favorite Student to protect his village.
MINATO : Decided to sacrifice his family to protect the village.
TSUNADE : Decided to sacrifice herself to protect the people of the village.

Like I said they all went through the hard decisions for the sake of village.
Hashirama : How can he make sure whether his friend is really dead or not? He minimized the harm to the village. He believed Tobirama to be more qualified even if he hated Uchihas. he knew Tobirama won't do anything rash enough to endanger the village.
Tobirama : Still allowed the Uchihas to live in the village because of his brother. He still feared another Madara rising among the Uchihas.
Hiruzen : All of them were people of the village. Orochimaru was the worst student and Hiruzen finally made the right decision on which he was getting faltered. Danzo was still hoping for the best of the village but was still stopped by Hiruzen from doing anything directly.
