Well, if its like a normal tree then inside the fruit, is the potential of becoming a tree/ new shinjuu. Thats why I think that by eating the fruit Kaguya became the new host of God.

I think it is the source of the strongest chakra. By eating it the person gains the power of gods because the persons chakra becomes stronger. I remember madara saying "...as the last one with the strongest chakra...",so this probably signifies something.

I don't know about stronger, but it supposedly happened once every thousand years so maybe 1000 years was the shinjuu's life expectancy. By giving out chakra Hagoromo was essentially giving a portion of God's power to mortals and now even though the Juubi is resurrected its possible that it won't become whole until it retrieves the powers taken from it.
