A lot of people think Shisui is the strongest genjutsu user, but yet he got fodderized by Danzo


When it comes to Itachi


Obito's genjutsu powers > Itachi by far

Obito is beyond an uchiha, that doesnt apply to him

im highly sure if healthy and itachi was faced with the same situations. itachi would have done a better job. but their roles their situations were different.


dont use the card sasuke killed itachi.

itachi was going to die regardless due to sickness.

itachi could have killd sasuke in the first genjutsu he had on sasuke.

kakashi and obito gets ms at same time kakashi didnt even know that he has ms for 15 years(approx) he is just noob in using sharingan.
if itachi used genjutsu on obito then obito easily breaks it

This is an interesting thread with a lot of well constructed arguments, and it's definitely a subject I think about often. Obviously, the answer to this question is highly subjective, and I don't believe there is a single right answer. I like reading everyone's opinion on the matter, though, and I hope this discussion goes on.

Is that the time Itachi used his genjutsu on Kakashi in the Gaara retrieval arc? If so, i believe Itachi said that the genjutsu didn't work because he was a shadow clone(somehow). And remember, that was just a part of Itachi's power due to the majority of his chakra and his real body(including mangokyou sharingan) being far away from there and focused on sealing Shukaku. I believe there is a specific percentage of his chakra being used there stated by Kisame, go look if you want. Koto amatsukami>Tsukuyomi>Standard sharingan genjutsu>non-sharingan genjutsu. In genjutsu: Shisui is the best, Itachi comes in as a close second, Obito and Sasuke are somewhat similiar in ability.

Taking control of him was likely Madara's doing since blood mist villagers were the ones to fulfill his plan, end up getting Rin killed and awakening Obito's MS.

thats one thing im confused about is that kisame saw his face and recognized him before the war. the one controling yagura had a young looking body.

He probably transformed into what he assumed Obito would eventually look like. It was definitely Madara though, because he had the sanbi extracted in order to turn Obito in the first place. Thus the kage predates madarobito.
