Since I see you have a lot of questions, use the questions section to ask them there please.

If you keep it active yes, it will continue blinding the opponent but while keeping it active you can't mold chakra for other techniques. Wind technique to blow it away yes. I think you can since due to the rank advantage but here is an example to clear it up when yo can't do it: If your opponent rises an plateau of earth and you want to make a dragon of it, you can't due to the chakra in the plateau. Once the plateau stops you can manipulate the earth. Same principle applies here. Though I believe you can do it in this case since this technique is a rank higher than the Hidden Mist, so yes you can use it.

Yes you can do use the Rain Tiger at Will technique to find them.

(Suiton: Mizu No Tatsumaki) - Water Style: Water Tornado
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Descripton: The user will wave the Ram β†’ Horse β†’ Bird hand seals and utilize water to create a spinning water vortex around the ninja. The water acts both as a barrier and attack mechanism. The power of the vortex is enough to knock an opponent unconscious.
Note: Can only be performed if there is a water source near by.

After doing 3 hand seals you will focus chakra into a water source and create a spinning vortex of water around a target (be it your opponent or yourself). This makes it good for defense and offense.

(Suiton: Suishōha) - Water Style: Water Shock Wave
Rank: C
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid (Made short range of the user with a med range reach)
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Descripton: This technique allows the user after claping their hands together to make a spiralling vortex of water out of knowhere. The vortex then proceeds to explode from the top in the form of a wave. The user can also control the direction the wave goes with hand movements.

After clapping your hands you create a spiralling vortex of water out of nowhere. Then the vortex will explode to create a wave which you can control with your hand movements.

(Suiton: Ukojizai no Jutsu) - Water Style: Rain Tiger at Will Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: A perception ninjutsu, allowing one to freely manipulate rain infused with the user's own chakra after waving the Bird β†’ Rat β†’ Ox β†’ Monkey β†’ Rat β†’ Snake hand seals. The rain falls from rain clouds, formed with the users own chakra. During this technique, the falling raindrops are closely linked to the users senses. When the rain is obstructed by a chakra belonging to someone the existence of the target can be detected. The rain will keep on falling until the user uses the seal to cancel it.

After doing 6 handseals you create rain which falls from the sky infused with your chakra. This allows you to sense any chakra the rain touches helping you detect opponents.

(Suiton: Mizu No Tatsumaki) - Water Style: Water Tornado

Damage Points: 30

Strong points: Well for one I like that this can be applied as an offensive AND defensive move. I like that this can cover short-mid incase you don't want to engage in close combat especially at the start of a turn. Even more so is that it has enough kick to knock someone unconscious if timed right. As I get more confident in short range, this might turn out to be a good short range move. I assume this covers all around the user so as a defensive maneuver this could hit several targets at once if you get surrounded.

Weak Points: A water source and the 3 handsigns keep the user from abusing it so before using it you need to figure out how to implement a water source into your overall tactics. From the scope of the jutsu, I think that you need to keep infusing chakra into it no? In order to keep it going right?

Combinations/Strategies: Combining with lightning would seem ideal but depends on how much concentration is required to maintain the water. If you can pull it off though that would make a very effective barrier like stormy blockade (I think >_>).

Ways to Counter: On oneself, I would have to be cautious because if I used a wind technique it could turn out against my favor due to the water adding power to it. I would need to use a wind technique that pushes out from all directions and hopefully one that can be used short range if a mid range attack is being used on me. Though what also is of concern is if the tornado is done in short range of me, will it come from beneath me or around me. Though the more logical choice would be around me. Lightning is out of the question so no on that. I could try a fire tornado/cyclone and create a mist/fog which I can use to my advantage. Using earth would make me some mud which I could also use in conjunction with a swamp of the underworld or not. The tricky thing though would be to maintain the tornado from touching me.

Perform it: Shin closes his eyes and begins to focus his concentration. He makes the Ram β†’ Horse β†’ Bird handsigns as he begins to build up his chakra inside and feel it flowing throughout his body. He can feel a surge of energy covering him and getting stronger. He then begins to channel all his energy throughout his body until it begins to seep out of his body. By manipulating that energy, Shin releases it around him in the form of water. He controls it by making it spin around faster and faster. He pushes out the tornado to make it bigger and stronger. To challenge himself, Shin begins to make the water a bit denser. He wants to make it powerful enough to knock a person out so he pushes himself to his limits and strength to see how far he could go. It begins to get harder and harder to control it but he insists on not giving up. Within a couple of minutes Shin was able to control a giant tornado that was quite dense and strong. As he released it he kneels down and begins breathing hard as if he had been running for a bit.

"I think....I did it....Pervy Sage."

(Suiton: Suishōha) - Water Style: Water Shock Wave
Rank: C
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid (Made short range of the user with a med range reach)
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: This technique allows the user after clapping their hands together to make a spiraling vortex of water out of nowhere. The vortex then proceeds to explode from the top in the form of a wave. The user can also control the direction the wave goes with hand movements.

After clapping your hands you create a spiraling vortex of water out of nowhere. Then the vortex will explode to create a wave which you can control with your hand movements.
Strong points: My favorite technique thanks to Tobirama. It has a couple of things going for it. It has a good range and doesn't require a water source which is all a plus to me aside from having different applications for use such as a water source and as an offensive move.

Weak Points: Assuming from the range, I don't think you can use it on someone who is within short range of you so it might not be a good idea to use like that if you are fighting someone up close. But other than that I can't think of any weaknesses.

Combinations/Strategies: Lightning is always a good choice but for this one I would prefer a wind technique to really give it some power. The wind could help push the technique further but I really can't think of any that would compliment it since I don't have an extensive knowledge on wind jutsu yet. But one thing I would do is take advantage of the free water source and use it for another technique. One that comes to mind to really overwhelm my opponent is that one that Kisame uses...something called exploding water wave or something.

Ways to Counter: Simple because Hiruzen gives us a good example of one counter: Earth Release: Earth Shore Return (i think that was it). A earth wall is good since it is sturdy and can absorb the shock of the water. The setback is that a) it blocks your vision and b) it only protects from frontal attacks from your enemy. A wind jutsu could also work to push back the water but it might require you to spend more chakra to push away the water or at least cancel it out. A fire stream would work but you would have to have good reflexes to pull it off since the water may travel faster than the fire..I think. >_>

Perform it: Shin begins his usual concentration ritual. He looks at the enemy and extends both his arms forward and makes a handsign that looks almost similar to the Shintenshin no Jutsu of the Yamanaka Clan. As he then brings his hands together which looks like a prayer gesture, his chakra quickly concentrates around him and begins to form into water. As the water forms, it begins to spin around Shin and form into a giant water vortex. The vortex spins rapidly around Shin as he begins to make it denser. At Shin's command the vortex explodes into a geyser like fashion and begins to spill out towards the enemy. It rushes with great speed from Shin't short range and covers the immediate mid-range area from him.

"Heh", says Shin as he grins with excitement at his ability to pull off the jutsu.

Strong points: Oh one of my personal favorites. Why? Because you can sense chakra with it, use it as a precedent to any rain jutsu you have the training for, and it covers all ranges which is a huge plus. I also like that you can keep it active though I don't see where it says how much you will have to waste to maintain it active.

Weak Points: I assume with the 6 handseals part that the jutsu takes some time to cover the whole field and isn't instantaneous. So your opponent would need something to stay busy as you summon the rain. I think you may have heard this question before but can these rain clouds be used for Kirin and can your enemy use the clouds too?

Combinations/Strategies: Rain Jutsu if you have the qualifications for it (passed test and have training). Since you can use this I wonder if Hiding in Mist Jutsu would work in conjunction with this technique or not. I don't know if an enemy could use your rain to use rain jutsu as well but oh well.

Ways to Counter: I heard wind could be used to blow it away but don't quite know for sure since the user is maintaining the rain with his chakra. I don't know if you can suppress your chakra to hide yourself but that can only take you so far especially if the rain can last past a turn. Hiding underground could work but you run into the problem if you get found out.

Perform it: Shin sits upon a rock (imagines he is Pein
You must be registered for see images
). He looks upon the field and closes his eyes as he does a string of 6 handseals (Bird β†’ Rat β†’ Ox β†’ Monkey β†’ Rat β†’ Snake). As the handseals are made he concentrates on his chakra and channels a large sum of it into the sky above him. He manipulates the moisture in the air to begin condensing into clouds. As the clouds begin to cover the whole area, Shin opens his eyes and on his command the newly formed clouds begin to rain down. Since the rain and clouds contain his chakra and is linked with his senses, Shin can now feel the battlefield in a sense. He focuses his senses to pick up Jiraiya's chakra signal as the rain falls on him.

"Ha ha! I can sense your chakra Jiraiya!"

(Suiton: Suirou No Jutsu) - Water Style: Water Prison
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This technique is used to trap a victim inside a virtually inescapable sphere of water by waving the Snake β†’ Ram β†’ Horse β†’ Hare β†’ Ram β†’ Horse β†’ Hare β†’ Hands spread in front palms out. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep at least one arm inside the sphere at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. This technique requires a sufficient amount of water, which can be provided by expelling it from one's mouth. Once trapped the target is unable to move while within it due to the heaviness of the water. Because of the density of the water it can be used, to a limited extent, for defensive purposes if performed on oneself. Water clones can be used in preparation for the technique, which block an opponent's attack and trap the attacker in the prison using the clone's own water.

Sorry for the delay ~_~.

After doing the sequence Snake β†’ Ram β†’ Horse β†’ Hare β†’ Ram β†’ Horse β†’ Hare β†’ Hands spread in front palms out you create a orb of water which surrounds your opponent and traps him inside the orb. The downside of the technique is that you have to keep your arm inside to maintain the orb which makes it a short range technique, and thus a huge downside of it. A good way to protect from this is to use a earth technique to absorb the water or a wind technique to blow it away but the latter is kinda dangerous as you can hurt yourself or even swallow water as you do the technique since most wind techniques require inhaling (there are exceptions).

Strong points

Despite its glaring weaknesses, this can be quite effective in singling out an opponent and cornering them. In fact if it is quite possible, you could try to increase the density of the water to crush your opponent instead of waiting for them to drown. However I think that it would require you to channel more chakra to it and there is no telling if the density would cause the orb to fall due to the weight and break apart. Another strength of the jutsu, would have to be that a water clone can be used as a source for the technique which, when used strategically, can give you an edge in battle.

Weak Points

Keeping that arm locked in place is one real disadvantage not to mention that it keeps you in one specific spot for the remainder of the jutsu. This can prove quite problematic in a team battle situation especially among inexperienced players. Being water-based, this jutsu runs the risk of conducting electricity that can, without forethought, damage both the user and the opponent. I have several thoughts on that but I will leave that for the next section.

Combinations/Strategies: Well you mentioned two good and well known strategies but sometimes the most common counters are the most easy to strategize against. My thoughts, as I mentioned, would be to strategically synch a lightning attack as you pull away. But that is aimed for the person performing the jutsu rather than oneself. To break away from it or escape it you would have to break the jutsu down a bit. The density of the water is going to prevent you from making any sudden movements other than thinking so you would have to prepare beforehand or hope your body can pull off the handsigns before you cave into the pressure. From my experience, you don't really need to speak the name of the jutsu. You just need the handsign and the ability to channel chakra which isn't hindered by the water density. If you are fast enough you could aim to have a handsign in place then as you are inside you could perform a counter jutsu. Water, earth, and wind seem like good choices since fire won't work at all and lighting will just end up killing you both or gravely injuring both parties.

Ways to Counter:

What first comes to mind is clones. xD In case you run into a tight spots, clones are always helpful as well as allowing you to sync two to three jutsu at the same time. You could blast the water away with a wind jutsu but like you mentioned, it would have to exclude jutsus that require you to inhale as you could just end up drowning faster. Earth techniques would work well in absorbing the water but requires quite a bit of tact. You don't want to create spikes and end up stabbing yourself lol. I was thinking that you could create a small earth technique that can absorb most of the water and use the created mud against the enemy then you could pull off using a defensive move in an offensive manner. I don't know if that made sense. >_>

Perform it:

Assuming you had a clone ready, Yamato-san listens intently to your instructions. After the instructional lesson had ended he then proceeded to follow up by performing the technique for his sensei. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He wanted to do a good job so he wanted to make himself comfortable so that it was right the first time. He walked over to a nearby lake followed closely by his sensei and his clone. Feeling quite nervous, Yamato approached the surface of the water with the clone and spoke:

"Okay sensei. First you would need to focus your chakra towards the target and then proceed with the required handsigns right?. Here I go."

Yamato takes another deep breath. He knows that a good impression is always the best. Especially for a man of his reputation, he had to do the best job he can. The pressure was on. So he began by molding his chakra by performing the Snake β†’ Ram β†’ Horse β†’ Hare β†’ Ram β†’ Horse β†’ Hare β†’ handsigns then proceeded with his hands spread in front palms out. Using the water of the lake as a source, Yamato directs the molded chakra towards the water below the target. Yamato manipulates it by moving the water to cover the target into a condensed sphere. As the sphere nears its completion, Yamato manipulates the water so that it condenses more so that the target inside is unable to move. He hopes the pressure is enough to either crush him or at the least, drown him.

"Ha ha! I have you now!"

We'll continue now but without the template. We'll make this a discussion of sorts where we talk about the techniques, their strong and weak points, usages, counters etc. so no need to perform it.

(Suiton: Mizu Kawarimi) - Water Style: Water Replacement
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user can freely transform his body into liquid. This form allows him to avoid taking direct damage from many physical attacks but can not attack while in this form.

A technique that falls under the substitution category. It allows you to turn your body into liquid which allows you to avoid being hit by blunt/sharp objects staying unharmed. Be careful though energy based elements like wind, fire and lightning can beat you up pretty bad when using this. All substitution rules apply to this and you cannot attack while in this form. Any thoughts, regards, questions?

Is this the same one Suigetsu uses as well as those in the Hozuki Clan? Now from looking at its description I assume that it is instantaneous as seen when Suigetsu gets punched in the face by Karin and his face reforms after. Also since you turn your body into liquid, would you be able to take advantage of that and perform the Water Prison Technique using your own body?

I like this technique though. Very useful to use if you have the right strategy in mind. :3

It's similar but not the same. They can attack while using this, non-Hozuki members can't. It is somewhat instantaneous, so it's pretty quick actually. Nope you cannot do that, since you cannot attack when using this technique it's mainly a defensive technique.

It is useful but dangerous. You use this and the opponent uses lightning in close range and you're done so you have to be very careful when using this.

(Suiton: SuishΕ« Gorugon) - Water Release: Powerful Blasting Rain Trench
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: The user after performing Dragon β†’ Tiger will summon a large amount of water that will then be used to strike at the opponent in several versatile ways. It has been known to transform it into a dragon with a gaping mouth to attack. The water used will be stationary till it is sent offensively toward the opponent.

This one is performed after two hand seals. You will summon a large amount of what which you can then manipulate in various ways be it a dragon as stated in the description or any other form or way you want to. You can also use this to create a source for other techniques if you want. You can create it anywhere within mid range so it's pretty much a good technique.

For a C-Rank Technique this seems a really good one to use. At first I confused it with Water Dragon Bullet but after some research I was proved wrong. xD

Normally it is used as an attacking dragon but it would be far better to use it as a supplementary technique and clones. Clone 1 could use the water source and perform Water Release: Giant Wave Crash. Clone 2 could then create earth spikes that can travel from the back towards the rushing water technique and hopefully be pinned by the two techniques. However for a measure of security, I would have myself come down from above and use a fire technique to cover a wide area so that he can't escape. I would assume that the Fire, Water, and Earth would meld together to form Clay to seal in the opponent. Too simple? .-.

Anyways, in terms of the technique itself, it can only work in short-mid range. As a person who prefers long range attacks I would rather use the technique itself as a supplementary one like I mentioned earlier. If it were used against me I could go for Hiruzen's approach and use a water attack to counter his. The left over water could be used as a follow up technique since I like water so much. Earth, Wind, and Fire are a little too predictable and lightning can't block that water at least in my opinion. I need to start thinking more creatively.

Description: After waving the Tiger hand seal the user slams his foot to the ground, causing water to rise up and travel towards his target as a slicing jet.

After the usage of the tiger hand seal you slam your foot to the ground and create water to rise up from it and travel towards your target as a slicing jet. The advantages are the speed of the technique and way it's performed and disadvantages are it's weak rank and that it's linear so it's trajectory is rather predictable.

(Suiton: Taihoudan) - Water Style: Water Gun

Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Descripton: A strong water wave spit from the mouth that is more compressed than Chaos Water Wave and can carve the earth if used on the same area multiply times.

A strong wave of water that you spit from your mouth. It is strong enough to carve the earth after multiple usages. Nothing special, best usage would be to push someone back, or defend a B-rank and below Fire technique. Simple really.

Description: A strong water wave spit from the mouth that is more compressed than Chaos Water Wave and can carve the earth if used on the same area multiply times.

A strong wave of water that you spit from your mouth. It is strong enough to carve the earth after multiple usages. Nothing special, best usage would be to push someone back, or defend a B-rank and below Fire technique. Simple really.
Too complicated XD. I liked the usages, good job.

This looks like a really good one to use short range rather than mid-range. You could come up behind your opponent and use it to dispatch them. The slam on the foot is quite the noise maker so you have to time it precisely or at least approximately because as soon as your opponent hears your foot behind them they will instinctively turn around.

As far as the advantages/disadvantages, well...you already mentioned them. I understand them but I think the jutsu is self-explanatory. I noticed that it doesn't require a source so this makes it advantageous to use against your enemy especially like I mentioned, at close quarters. If this were used against me I would try to take advantage of the tech by using a good fire jutsu to create a mist and follow up with another jutsu to push the enemy back. BUt seeing as I want to specialize in Earth, Water, and Wood, I would use a wood technique like spikes that could rise like the water technique and continue going. Then I would follow by jumping in the air and doing a water stream technique to cover the enemy from afar. But wouldn't that leave me open if they just go underground?

As soon as the water jet is activated via the handseal and foot stomp, do you still have to focus on it or can you quickly follow up with another technique?

(Suiton: Taihoudan) - Water Style: Water Gun

I didn't know that certain C-Rank Water techniques could defend against a B-Rank Fire technique. O___O

There is something else I noted to be wrong about the jutsu and name. >_>

Suiton: Taihoudan is Water Style: Great Cannon Ball Jutsu while Suiton: Mizudeppō is Water Release: Water Gun. The first one can be used as a stand alone technique or collaboration technique with toads but requires 5 handseals. The second one is a blast of water in a form of a stream, has no handseals, and requires you to be in a "Kaima Form". So I am a bit confused as to how the technique came to be since it is neither one or the other. Sooo weird...

Irregardless, I shall follow the one you posted. xD

I like this jutsu because it is a easy to do and you can do more the more times you utilize it. Especially if your enemy is using a type of earth barrier, you can fire off a couple of these and carve through that. You could also create a trench and use it for a fire, mud, or water technique to push back your enemy or as you're pushing them back. I was thinking of making a trench and then doing Earth Flow River (is that the name?). I wonder if you can use a lower rank wind technique to increase the power of the Water Gun. My friend likes using wind so thinking of ways to collaborate jutsu. Especially at this time since all I know are C-Ranks. xD

If this were coming at me, It would be wise to use a Earth Style: Rock Bullet to counter the water but since they are both C-Rank I wonder which would break through? As far as techniques go I try to go with unconventional since most people all try to counter with opposite element. I was rather intrigued at how Hiruzen countered the Masked Zetsu's attacks with the same jutsu or similar element. I want to do try methods like that to counter but then that wouldn't really give me an edge though.

(Suiton: Seibun Hōfutsu) - Water Style: Water Heavens Convergence
Rank: C
Type: Defensive, Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: After performing the required hand signs Tiger β†’ Dog β†’ Monkey β†’ Snake β†’ Boar β†’ Tiger the user makes water rise from the ground and they can use this water in various ways. They can create a body of water for a water summoning to be encased in and allow them to move around where normally no water exists, or create a body of water to block incoming attacks or surround his target and then drown them.

After doing a set of hand seals you create water which you can manipulate in various ways. This is a very useful technique since it allows you to create a water source where it usually wouldn't exist. Not much to it actually than that.

From what I gathered, the technique works by converting the moisture in the area into water. You can gather from around you or or from the groundwater below. With this in mind and the type that the technique is, the created water source is a tremendous plus especially if you prefer water style fighting. There seems to be three applications to the technique such as a water source, a body of water to block attacks, and an attack to drown your opponent. If this were used against me I could either take advantage of the free water source and use a combined water and lightning technique or I could use a fire technique to create a steam/mist that can be used as a cover for other techniques/strategies. The handseals could pose a problem even though they are six because I assume it takes a short while to create the whole technique and then manipulate it to do what you want it to achieve. Water specialists could probably do it faster and more efficient but that depends on what you want to achieve with it.

I assume that this technique works by using your chakra to lessen the pressure it causes on the body to move slower. So in essence, yes it helps you move faster, but I wonder how it helps "mask your presence"? I don't think you could actually hide yourself since water is pretty clear depending on how much sunlight goes into it. Also the chakra used around the body would allow a sensor to detect you more easily. Perhaps by masked presence they meant as far as sound? Because if the chakra lessens the pressure that slows you down then the sound isn't as obvious since you are now "light". If this were used against me and sensory perception isn't available to me, then I would then get out of the water and try to draw out my opponent from the shore or higher ground. In our RP, most people won't wait or play hide and go seek. xD

I don't know if it's possible, but depending on the scope of the technique you could use the water as a conductor for lightning or you could evaporate the water with a fire technique. But like I said, it depends on the technique.

Hmmm....do you have to have your hands open for this? If not, then this would be a nice move to incorporate into close range combat like when punching. Kinda reminds me of that D-Rank fire technique that allows you to set your limbs on fire and such. I don't know if this is possible but could you use the water technique in one hand and at the same time use a lighting technique or would that fall in the Ying/Yang Release territory? If so, then I'll just use a shadow clone for that. Speaking of which, if this were used against me then I would try to use the same technique if I could time it right if not then I could always utilize a shadow clone. For short range though there isn't that much options since it's so close. Hmm...I wonder if there is a wood jutsu that works as an arm shield because that could work well against techniques like this.

Second technique:

You are able to be sensed by sensory and Dojutsu but you are masked from the naked eye. The chakra around you bends the light I guess to hide your presence from enemies. But once you get close they will see you.

Third technique both open palm and closed are acceptable for the usage of the technique.

Suishi means drowning but it can also mean a dispatch of troops. Technically its real name is Suiton: Suigun Suima no Jutsu but since they basically mean the same thing then I guess it's okay. Anyways, its twisting/spiralling motion makes it quite better than a regular stream of water of the same rank as the turning causes the same pressure all around than with a stream that has one concentrated area. Depending on how the user manipulates it, the pressure of the spinning motion could also spin your opponent around with it and can distract him giving you a good opening. The bad thing about the technique is that it requires a water source so this would be better to use on water terrains or after a time when you have already set up the field with a water source. I like the Hiruzen approach of using a similar water stream or same technique to counter the technique. If you however wanted to overpower your opponent, then you could just go for the cliche fire technique and use the created mist as a distraction for other techniques or as an opportunity to cast a supplementary technique. As far as combinations go, you could also try lightning but don't think it would be wise if you are standing on water. Wind would be a good combination as well as making the water more pressurized and/or sticky.

Hmmm....if you used the same technique you could try to bend the water coming at you and then combine it with yours and send it back to the opponent though not sure if that would work well.

The whirlpool can be quite effective in deep water. I assume that it can take you quite a ways inside the water so it could take you to depths where the pressure is stronger and kill you if you haven't drowned yet. It would be interesting to incorporate a strong wind technique that could help it grow in size and power so that their isn't much of an escape. You know like a vacuum mixed with a black hole but only with water. Due to the low rank, the technique probably isn't that strong or maybe I am underestimating it. It would be smart to use another distracting technique beforehand so that the enemy tries to resist it or escape it. To be honest, I don't quite know how you would get out of this one if you are surrounded by water. I don't know if you would have time to use the water replacement technique or if a strong wind technique could cancel it. I would like to know which wood techniques if any, would you use to escape this one. I don't think one would be fast and smart enough to use a tree technique and then pull yourself to it. Earth techniques won't really be effective on watery terrains and lightning is basically playing with fire though that is a good combination to use lightning on an opponent who is getting trapped in it.

Using this effectively is tricky because once the oil/mist is released, your opponent can light it on fire and use it for his advantage as well. I assume that like all cloud techniques that this one can be dispersed/blown away with a strong wind jutsu. Hmm...I wonder if you use the Hidden Mist with it if it would work or if you would be able to just make a CJ out of it. Well anyways, as for countering it, if you can't blow it away and/or you become trapped in oil you could try using water (soap would work but that is limited to Nagato and Utakata bios so not sure you can make soap cj's). Using a fire and exploding tags seems pretty neat especially if you plant one on the enemy without him noticing and then activate it as soon as the enemy is covered or amidst the oil/mist.

Although Hashirama was a wizened shinobi, he was, for lack of a better word, rather atrocious at passing on his knowledge to the younger generation. The exchange was done almost quietly, with Hashirama vanishing in the midst of smoke as Adachi took his place. Having arrived on time to catch just the last few moments of Yamato's previous training session, he was hardly amused. He could see why the elder Wood user would want to enlighten the younger, but there was just something...lacking.

Passion. Perhaps that was it. Adachi scoffed inwardly at himself. Here he was, talking about passion when he was hardly the proper example himself. No matter.

He walked up to Wood user who still seemed pre-occupied with his last technique, glancing around at the change of atmosphere from the clouds that had recently shed oil. "Given your conversation with your...previous sensei," Adachi began. "I suppose there is no longer a need for me to further emphasize upon it. I'll leave it to your hopefully useful brain to process the information you had been given earlier." With those words, he glanced around the Training Grounds (a place he had visited a far too many times) and took a quick note of the available area. It was a suitable environment that Hashirama had chose to train for Water, though there was a potent problem at the moment. Adachi decided to address it after his initial explanation.

"I'm sure you have long since memorized the standard twelve handseals," he stated, turning to Yamato. "However, their significance in battle is hardly emphasized upon. Given the jutsu you just learned, Black Clouds, it has a sequence of exactly three handseals. Now, do tell me. How might the amount of handseals affect you and your opponents during battle? And furthermore, how do handseals showcase your mastery of a jutsu?" His hands went into his pockets almost sub-consciously as he assumed his usual nonchalant stance. "Lastly, do you possess knowledge of the Doton element?"

Yamato was suddenly startled by a strange man's voice which seemed to sound so casual yet stern. Reminded him of a mix between Kakashi-senpai and Sarutobi-sensei.

"Given your conversation with your...previous sensei, I suppose there is no longer a need for me to further emphasize upon it. I'll leave it to your hopefully useful brain to process the information you had been given earlier. After listening intently and quietly, Yamato processes all of the man's words. Though they may have seemed quite blunt, they were indeed the truth. He reflected on all of his training and all his hardwork and how he had felt like he had been slipping. No one was there to push him in the right direction but perhaps maybe now...maybe...someone could. He smiled brightly and then looked over to the man and spoke in a warm tone.

"Well from my perspective, the amount of handseals signifies the amount of chakra needed to concentrate into a technique. The more the handseals, the more time you have to spend focusing it. Your enemy can take advantage of that and launch a counterattack essentially negating the technique you were trying to use. In battle, time is everything and if you aren't good at utilizing the little time you have then you will end being the loser. I have seen many a battles where the victor was the one who took advantage of his opponents "opening". Taking that into account, many will try to lower or speed up the amount of handseals needed to gain an advantage over their opponent when performing techniques. However that is limited to the user's specialty which makes it that more deadly if in the hands of a very knowledgeable and skillful individual. Lastly, yes I do possess some knowledge in Doton."

Yamato waited quietly for this man's reply but before that asked him a simple question.

"What is your name by that way? My name is Yamato."

He smiled again hoping it would be met with another smile.

His student's tone was similar, yet contrasted in a curious way from some of the other students Adachi currently had. Indeed, he found himself hardly intrigued by one's physical characteristics, but what worked within their mental processes, the cogs that turned the wheel. Adachi listened quietly to the detailed explanation given to him that ended up on an introductory note. It was almost if the man expected him to stick out his hand and give him something like a firm handshake.

Yamato was about his age, he suspected, and that was probably why the Wood user struck him as more...suppressed than the others. None of that bright, wild-eyed and uncontrollable enthusiasm the youth had. His tone, that was what he was thinking about. His tone was polite as that of an adult, welcome and warm. A bit too...open for one like Adachi, to say the very least. Not to mention the straight cut to the first name usage though Adachi was never one for honorifics.

"Tohru Adachi," he responded curtly to the question of his name, then cut straight to the chase. "You're essentially correct - the more handseals, the more chakra and the important point here, the time taken. If your techniques take less handseals than the enemy, your move will obviously be executed in a more rapid manner and vice versa. Your next reasoning also proves another point, and whether by affinity, specialty, or mastery, one can indeed lower the amount of handseals needed for a technique and potentially quicken its activation. Take for example, Chidori. Normally, it could take up to thirteen handseals simultaneously in order to bring this jutsu to life, but with enough practice, only the Ox handseal is necessary."

He paused then, glancing at the open area around him and motioning for Yamato to take a few steps back. "Since you stated you have knowledge of Doton already, I'd like you to utilize it at this very moment. From where you are standing, send your chakra into the earth to create a pillar however large you like to raise us into the air. Keep in mind the length and width that you give your structure. After doing so, form the handseals of Boar β†’ Dog β†’ Ram in that order and send your Water chakra into the ground to carve out a wave that will fall over the edge of the pillar created to cause a waterfall and form a basin below. The size of the technique is up to you. Keep in mind the reasoning behind this jutsu, particularly the first step of creating a pillar, and the second, the creation of the basin itself."

Yamato believed his current training in the earth element was insufficient to allow him to produce the effects his sensei had in mind. Instead he decided to take a different approach but would require him to focus and utilize a precise amount of chakra. The thought of doing the task seemed to tire out Yamato before he even began but he knew he couldn't let down an opportunity to put his skills to good use. After all, being in the ANBU coupled with his rare mastery of the wood element, he had learned many valuable skills to help him accomplish almost impossible tasks. Yamato then spoke to Adachi in a rather embarrassed tone.

"Sensei...my apologies if doesn't meet your standards. I am compensating with what little I know."

Yamato then closes his eyes and focuses on the first technique. This first one was easy but he knew the second one would be...difficult. He begins by channeling his chakra throughout his body. He imagined a wave of energy flowing within him and building up slowly, then rapidly. When he felt he had gathered a sufficient amount, he performed the Rat β†’ Horse β†’ Dog β†’ Snake handsigns and released his chakra into the ground around him and Adachi-sensei. THe chakra in the ground manifested itself in the form of many medium-sized rock pillars creating a pseudo-prison. Once the pillars had completed their formation, Yamato then squinted his eyes (>_<) at the thought of what he had to do next. He spoke towards his sensei in a nervous, yet subtle tone.

"Okay the next part will be challenging but I know I can do it."

Yamato took a long, deep breath and once again began by channeling his chakra throughout his body. He imagined a bigger wave of energy flowing within him and building up slowly, then rapidly. When he felt he had gathered a sufficient amount, he performed the Boar β†’ Dog β†’ Ram and precisely, very precisely, had water come out of all the pillars, though one after another with a couple of seconds in between them. Amazingly, water flowed out of them all like a spring. It was very hard to perform this technique because unlike its intended purpose of making a large-scale technique, Yamato had squeezed the size drastically so that it wouldn't tear through the pillars right away. While still holding onto the Ram handseal, Yamato told Adachi in a rather cool voice.

"Watch this."

Yamato then sent the remaining surge of channeled chakra towards all the rock pillars and caused them to erupt the water in a greater amount and pressure essentially destroying all the pillars and creating a rather large lake of water. Luckily Yamato had channeled chakra to the soles of his feet to allow him to be on top of the water unscathed. He hoped Adachi had done the same and awaited his feedback.

"Sensei..." Yamato informed Adachi somewhat sheepishly. "My apologies if I don't meet your standards. I am compensating with what little I know."

"No worries," his sensei responded with a shake of his head. "There is always room for improvement. Giving it your best is that I ask for." The ground rumbled moments as instead of a single, large pillar, many medium sized pillars carried sensei and student into the air, each packed in tightly with the other. Closing his eyes in concentration, Yamato flashed through the instructed handseals, causing water to begin leaking from within the pillars, crashing down with gravity as it slowly began gathering below. Adachi nodded in approval at the demonstration as his student wrapped up the technique with a burst of chakra, efficiently destroying the pillars beneath them.

Adachi landed with practiced ease upon the newly formed lake, waiting for the bits and pieces of the earth pillars to completely sink before he turned to Yamato. "As you have not yet learned the appropriate Earth technique for this," he began. "It may be weaker than normal, but there is essentially not that much of a difference. First, let us speak of the Earth technique itself and how it is beneficial in conjunction with this technique. Given that a pillar itself is already a defensive technique against most lower ranged and ranked jutsus, the fact that it also brings you up into the air also allows for a wider perception of the field. You can associate this concept with the likes of a bird's viewpoint - essentially, the higher you are, the more you can see and as always, it is important to keep an eye on your opponent." He paused briefly to walk backwards from Yamato, off the lake onto dry land as he motioned for his student to stay. "Now, let's move on to the waterfall aspect of this jutsu. Asides from creating a water source such as the one you are standing upon that could help your future jutsus, think of the wideness of the waterfall created. Upon a solid, long pillar, it would naturally flow over the edge and onto the ground below, however, take into account the width of the waterfall created and the fact that it would "hide" the section of the pillar it falls over. Due to that and that you still have control of the earth you are standing upon, you can potentially create an opening behind the waterfall to hide in or retreat to, a technique all the more useful if you are aware of the Mole technique that allows you to burrow into the earth you are standing upon. But asides from a water source and its defensive properties, this serves as more supplementary rather than the opposite."

Completing his explanation, Adachi reached within his pocket to pull out a single kunai. "Now, as you have already been taught Water Clone jutsu, I'd like you to put that into use right now. Create a single clone and then by further chakra manipulation, I'd like you to shape it into four medium sized shurikens in which you then aim straight for me. Keep in mind the distance between both of us and also where you target each of the separate attacks."
(Suiton: Takitsubo) - Water Release: Waterfall Basin
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar β†’ Dog β†’ Ram the user creates a waterfall by developing spring water in a place without water veins and manipulating the resulting water current to form a wave. This is a very convenient technique as it can be used for training or relaxation. On the other hand, because it changes the environment on a large scale, it also has the effect of hiding one's location from the enemy by confusing them. The width of the water source, waterfall, and basin can be expended, as long as the user continues to send chakra in.
