Hinata is still alive and the royal branch of the Hyuga clan. If this was to happen then she would be the perfect alternative to Neji, to be the one to take light for the hyuga in all of this. Also does the hyuga eyes not have the ability to see through genjutsu as they are able to see & read chakra the same as the sharingan?

Maybe we shall see Hinata taking a supportive role trying to help wake up people from IT? ;o

^^^^sadly would have to agree. It would seem that kishi has forgotten about the rest of the characters in the story at this point and chosen to accelerate the ending with inexplicable and seemingly infinite power-ups for a couple of remaining players.

It's not the end yet,there's still some hope his editor can't let him forsake a major clan like Hyuuga just like that when he went to the extent of giving Kaguya byakugan,I think it will come into play and now is the right time I believe
