They're blood relatives to the senju. They're related to the senju but they don't share the same ancestor or something like that.

Doesn't mean that the uzumaki are an offshoot of the senju.... It's still a mystery where the uzumaki got their red hair trait from so it can't be ashura. since obviously he isn't a red head...

The Uzumaki have amazing vitality though, so haven't they inherited the SO6Ps body? I don't think the red hair means much. The Uzumaki clan could have had blonde hair instead, if things worked out differently. Red hair is just their trait because it stands out so much, and because it's pretty rare.
