Yea, I heard that everyone takes the exam at the same time on the same day (despite different time zones). That sounded pretty cool lol

Actually most colleges nowadays want 4 and 5

Its really easy to get a 3 on an ap test

Yea, my teacher told me about that. She said that we should at least aim for a 5 to 6 on the essays so the minimum we would get as an overall score is 3, 4, or 5 depending on how we did on the multiple choice

Yea, I've been staying after school with my teacher for the past two weeks, and my whole class has been outlining the AP book for four weeks

Tons of energy drink. Lots of music. Chew gum. The more you stimulate your senses, the more you have to be able to trigger your memory.

Play assassims creed. Read the back stories, some of them are historical just be careful not to include the fictional part.

Skim your book. Look for years and dates and bolded words. Know important people.

I take my AP World History Exam this Thursday, and I wanted to know any tips for studying for it?

I pretty much get the information despite it's complicated formatting, but I honestly can't write a good enough CCOT or DBQ that would earn me at least a 3 or 4, so is there anyone out there that can help? It'd be appreciated.

So one good thing about DBQ is that you don't actually need to have a lot of past background from memory; your goal is to choose the relevant documents to support your viewpoint, and all the information you need is usually in the documents. This part of the exam actually tests your analytical skills rather than sheer knowledge. I was lucky because all the essays I had to write in class/out of class were basically DBQ's, so I had loads of practice. Since you are limited on time, it could be helpful to go over the past DBQ questions and look at the strong responses -- see how these responses form the thesis and use the documents.

I would say when you get a DBQ, a good strategy is (what I used to get a 5):
1) Skim the available points you can prove/the options you are given to discuss
2) Skim the passages to see which point you think might give you a better handle on the documents
3) Go back to the documents and extract two or three main reasons --> turn these into two, three paragraphs
4) Have a strong conclusion, a really nice conclusion can bump up the rest of your essay since the graders have limited time too and are probably not reading 100% of what you write, but they want to see clear logic and insight, even if you have to BS it. Using nice sounding words helps.

Here's the link to the sample responses and what they are looking for:
