[Question] Can law deactivate logia powers?

So i was wondering in punk hazard arc , law managed to take out the heart of smoker. But just like the rest of his body , shouldn't smoker be able to convert his heart into smoke and get it back?
We already know that kizaru could control his lower body when apoo cit him in half in saboady so why wasn't smoker able to do that?
Does this mean that any logia's body part cut by law's power get's deactivated of it's power?

I doubt that even logia can regenerate internal organs, their body is made of their element but their heart, brain etc. are a completely different case. Either this or Law used a bit of Haki when he took Smoker's heart.

but he stored it in his coat , he couldn't be using haki all the time. Also for a while the heart was with caesar and there is no evidence of him possesing haki.

They kinda have to be considering when a logia gets hit through the chest etc there is a hole but their organs are not there meaning they aswell have been affected by the DF.

You only need Haki to separate the limb/heart or whatever has been cut. You dont need to use Haki to keep the logia from regenerating.

Without using Haki, Law is simply hitting Smoke

With Haki Law is hitting Smoker's real body.

If you cut Smoker's arm he can regen because the arm is simply Smoke
If you use Haki he can't regen because thats his real arm that has been separated. Real flesh and blood.

Its as Fireplay says it as long as u have a tad of haki for the intial cut then they shldnt be able to regen it coz logia dont heal they rather just reconstitute like if u fynd a logia asleep and nick their arm and actually cut and maybe say draw blood they wont heal the arm. Law ddnt deactivate Smoker's powers he just used df laws to his advantage same as Aokiji cldnt Ice up and reconect his leg after he lost it.

Yes but my point was that once you stop using haki , you stop touching their real body. Meaning when law put the heart in his coat or caesar held it , there was no haki applied to the heart so it should have turned back to smoke.
