Kind of but it really depends on where you work. I've worked where I do for 3 1/2 years and have gotten a $2 pay raise from my initial raise. It really depends on a few things: Can you do things other employees can't at your workplace? Can you be easily replaced for someone who would be able to perform the same tasks to the same amount of efficiency? What sort of impact do you have for your workplace and its future?
My boss was being too cheap for me last month and gave everyone else a raise but me and some other guy. I sat down with him for 10 min and told him that I felt that I was justified for a raise and told him why. The next week, I got a 50 cent raise per hour. It's all on circumstances.
