How to Fix Sleep Schedule

So I've heard that a lack of sleep can lead to premature deaths later in life. This whole semester I haven't been getting much sleep, typically 4-6 hrs. a night and 9-12 hrs. once a weekend. In the past few weeks however, I've started running on 4 hrs., and since last week mostly just 0-2 hrs. of sleep a night. I get really tired and drink a lot of coffee to compensate. Anyway, this really ****ed up my system and I can't get back on track. It's difficult to go to bed, or find motivation to get my work done early so I CAN sleep.... Is this bad?

(My parents have threatened to take my laptop and phone away from me, so I need to fix this, but it's just so difficult. >.<)

I've been having the same problem this semester for university. I've spent too much time on NB. I also spend too much time on my laptop but I've been doing better lately lol. The key is, just shut everything off an hour or two before you're ready to. You'll get bored and go to sleep with nothing else to do. I've also taken some sleeping medicine to help too but if you do that, DO NOT make it a habit otherwise, you'll get dependent on it. 3 times a week at most but I usually avoid such measures. The main thing is to put away distractions and leave yourself with nothing else to do but sleep.

Juxt like my sis. !! She also stays uill like 3 or 4 and then wakes up at 6 !! I think u should put ur laptop and phone away for a week or two, and by that I don't mean that u should completely shut it but limit its use !

I second this.
I am going through the same situation and this helped me except for the sleeping pills part.
Use them as a last resort and don't make a habit out of it.

your sleep deprivation sounds like its stress related. do something you enjoy for an hour or 2 and just calm down n try to relax.

Haha. This is so on point. I have to get up at 6 and its 3:30 but i still have homework. Really I should get off this site and finish my work already. :X
This site can be too distracting at times. Just get yourself banned, that's how I stay off and fix my sleep for a while Lol

damn I know that feel... best advice i Could give? Try rewarding your self the laptop time after you complete your assignments. Once you limit the amount of time u spend online the easier it will be to fall asleep too. shit sucks U_U

*exercise might help to, going on walks, and trying to deepen your breath, so you can relax easier when trying to fall asleep

Tell mods to bann u so u will be resticted to use site.
And for sleep , sleep on bed close ur eyes, wait for sleep meanwhile listen song (soft songs) with cords in ur ears no speaker.just set playlist of max 2hrs . Just do this today. If it work it will be good and if not we will find other way. This work for me.

Do some exercise. Go running or something. Believe it or not, I face the same problem as you. I usually sleep good when I doing something. Sometimes not sleeping could be sign of stress.(Pretty much my reason)
