Amaterasu > Juubi?

So I just had a thought. Sasuke and naruto combined amaterasu and rasenshuriken to try and take out the Juubi, and it would've worked if the juubi didn't just shed the burning section of his body. There's a link to the chapter below.

Couldn't Sasuke just kill the entire Juubi with amaterasu? It ignites wherever the user of the technique is looking so couldn't Sasuke just trail his eyes over every part of the Juubi and burn it to a crisp? I know that Naruto wants to help the bijuu, but couldn't Sasuke theoretically kill the Juubi? We know that Itachi could make this much fire:

While diseased and almost blind, so shouldn't Sasuke with his superior chakra, EMS, healthy body and ability to manipulate amaterasu be able to kill the Juubi? Amaterasu does fodderise every other bijuu.

I don't think you understand how big the Jubi actually is. If Sasuke can amaterasu the whole thing at one time, that's a huge problem in the writing

Maybe, but if he just targets key areas and let's the flames spread, the Juubi is going to be hugely diminished after all the shedding it would have to do.

I just haven't thought of the God tree very much. When I think of the Juubi, I just think of it as being inside Madara, and not as a tree that got solod by a rasengan.
