Idk about surpassing but I think they'd be equally successful :3

It's situational. In some cases, definitely x)

In many others though, having the gift is a necessity -- programming for example. Sure, you can learn to do it, but having the gift of a logical mind to begin with will push you so much further xD

Essentially this. In terms of being successful, however, you need a bit of luck as well. Sure, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs had talent, but they also hard work but were also lucky in their younger lives. If you really want to look into this subject, however, I highly suggest "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell. Has a lot to say on talent and hard work.

Ah yes, luck. Sadly nowadays, luck has become an incredibly important factor :x
Is Outliers a book? I'll check it out, I've been needing something new to read for a while.

I like to think so, yes, but sometimes natural talent will surpass hard work. I feel like even people who learn it more naturally still put hard work into it though.

I agree with what she said. Also if the difference between your talents is as small as Ronaldo and Nani, then hardwork plays a big role.
Whenever I think about hardworking vs Talent, I think about me vs my rival, and since I am hardworking type(although, I am bit talented according to the people), I would like to go for less talent+more hardworking.U_U

If the talented person doesn't further develop in that certain field, a person who works hard to improve will eventually beat the talented one. Talent does play a huuuuge role in something but it only sets the basics up. You still have a long way to go.

“Talent means nothing, while experience, acquired in humility and with hard work, means everything.”
