I've made this thread before too. Good points though.

Here's the video version. See it's a little hard for people to see it like that as NB is very much a community who treats Naruto like nothing but a competitive fight anime but it's clearly what the story has been about since the end of the first arc.

Good thread. Some charas also recognise themselves or others in Naruto. Iruka, Gaara, Nagato and Obito saw their younger selves in him, Tsunade saw her husband and brother in him, Sai saw his brother in him. Naruto changed these charas but he failed to change Sasuke, his closest friend. Despite the bonds they shared Sasuke couldn't recognise himself in Naruto. Naruto couldn't describe what it felt like to have blood relations, to have them taken away

As Nagato put it, "If you don't share someone's pain, you can never understand them. But just because you understand them doesn't mean you can come to an agreement''

i like him, but damn dude stop the tnj and kill.

the obito tnj was so bad

It was funny to me how tnj was kind of a running joke until it got to that point... I mean Obito started a war, killed hundreds of his former friends including his own sensai and his wife, but the moment he met naruto he stopped being evil because he felt bad lol wut?

Tnj only works in a fairy tale. Only little kids believe it actually works. You are better off believing in peter pants and snow white. You know why the idea is so fcking stupid?? One example, two countries will not go buddy and buddy like naruto. It's moronic and its stupid to believe its possible. There's no logic in such belief

Only little kiddies would believe an elephant would fall from the sky

Naruto's not real

oh, also this isn't proven in the slightest. Naruto is a fictional exaggerated universe, do you know what basic symbolism is?

Also messiahs have existed in real life, Ghandi united people through words and not actions, it's just the truly great men who do it- it's not common but that doesn't mean it doesn't work.

Congrats on missing the entire point of the series.

The point of the series is for naruto to end the cycle of hatred and change everything that is wrong and unjust in the world. There have been people similar to naruto in real life but even they could not make and change the views of everyone. I don't have a problem with talk no jutsu as much as others but when it comes to that Obito incident it really makes me scratch my head. Obito is responsible for a lot of the problems of the series as whole and has been corrupted by Madara since he was young and has done unforgivable acts of evil for a cause he truly believed in. So sorry I find Obito switching sides kind of stupid because a kid made him feel guilty when he should have felt guilty years prior.

It's the idea that matters. Of course nobody has done it yet in the real world but how does that make it ultimately impossible? Naruto is an exaggerated microcosm of this idea in action. I've said all this before, please check this out if you're interested in this discussion.

I like the video and I definitely get what your saying however I can't help but feel weird if madara, the prime antagonist is force to see the ideal version of peace through naruto's eyes despite his extremist ways. But maybe I just need to get used to the idea and we need more similar stories in fiction in the mainstream. I'm not going to lie however, I will always prefer a good fight with a brutal conclusion where the villian gets what he deserves .

Naruto as a character sucks. He has no personality. I don't mind of him lacking in manners as he was an orphan. But Naruto lacks dignity. Despite being an outcast for most of his life, he knows very little about how the world runs. As an abandoned and ignored child, he should have learned a lot about the system of shinobi world through hardship

Not only naruto is foolishly diplomatic and idealistic, he also lacks the wisdom and wit. Its ridiculous how an idiot like him could persuade and stray convicted people like Nagato and Obito from their path. which they had chosen decades ago. I would normally feel pity for an orphan, but Naruto is too much linear and boring. One of the worst shonen main character ever

He's not meant to be. He has enough personality to carry shonen protagonist and has a few real moments of depth but mostly his character is intended to be a bit of a blank slate, it's his innocence and never-let-die personality that makes everyone in the NV cling to him, you can project whatever you want onto him. Naruto doesn't need to be a Danzo or a Kabuto or a Sasuke in terms of depth- his actions justify his existence, it's the changes that happen around his character which are what is important.

Talk no jutsu - Whats the point of this thread?

Summing up the entire point of this show that some people are still incapable of understanding, the show that we're all on this forum about in the first place...? Seems like a pretty good point to me.

I'm honestly surprised that people are so myopic they can barely tell the purpose of this thread.

Quite a few threads that misjudged Naruto's character have been gaining popularity, and I'd just like to bring this back so that people can see my views on Naruto's character.
