The demon shroud being senjutsu was one of the dumbest shit I've seen.

Kishi likely hadn't even thought of senjutsu yet. That was the very beginning of the series. His chakra become so strong it was visible, and due to his malevolence it took the form of a "demon shroud". That's it.

I would like to know about Sakumo though.

Um, yeah there have. Chouji, all Rasengan users? I believe Naruto displayed a burst of his chakra (not the Kyuubi's) in part one that was visible.

You'd be asking a lot of irrelevant questions if those were the questions you'd ask Kishi. Like why does the 1st and 2nd gen kage's abilities even matter at this point? Also, we know about Mangetsu and Shisui's abilities.
