If the plot didn't give Sakura anything to benefit her as a character, then it means she is a bad character.
How powerful Naruto is, is based of the people he's helped and the trust he received from it. Even when it comes to relatability, I relate more to Naruto, everyone at one point knows what's it like to feel like an outcast and crave attention.
Sakura is just a girl who is deluded in loving someone she knew nothing about and rather than using her strength she chose to use her tears. You can change how she's written all you want, but she'll never be as good a character as anyone in Naruto.

I never understood that, a lot of people are sensitive on this site, it was not like that a couple of years ago

Sometimes I get really involved in a good debate then I can't reply anymore because it's locked when I was mid-typing. It's gets so frustrating, but sometimes the bad outweighs the good, and to keep it from losing control, closing it is the best option.

Nice thread.

The prophecy of "Naruto , the savyor of humanity" is not the thing I prefer in the manga.

You are right , her character is well written.

It's pretty disappointing to see her getting a power-up by hard work (3 years for one power-up!) that doesn't make her useless , just to see Naruto and Sasuke getting free power-ups (that were in their genes from their birth) and making her useless again...

Naruto is about Team 7:Naruto/Sasuke/Sakura ; Light/Darkness/and an useless and irrelevant girl?
Sakura must have a great role in the future story.
Maybe her chakra control can be the link between Light and Darkness ( holding Naruto's right hand with her left hand and Sasuke's left hand with her right hand ).
Most are waiting for her to die , that's why it would be awesome to see her get one good power-up.

Its Kishi's fault, he even admitted Sakura is a bad heroine and said Hinata would be better suited for the role

When u have ur own creator saying stuff like that, then u know u are a real underdog

Actually that's not what Kishi said, but people tried to twist it to that. He said it's time for Sakura to start acting the part of the heroine she is. The Hinata thing was an anime joke in an omake.

No, deviantART (only pics that they grant permission to use though) then cropped it myself. I always keep the artist's name on hand if anyone is curious to see their work.

Whoever made the pic is pretty talented.

I vote,d but not because I'm a Sakura fan, it's because it's true what he said about her and what she went through.

What did Sakura go through that was worse than what Naruto went through? lololol don't be a fangirl.

Did you actually read it? I was referring to how Sakura felt to be in Team 7.

I thought one of his co workers said Hinata would be a better heroine?

Calm down. I don't see why calling her a fangirl would make your post any better.

Ok, I read you thread, I get it. But, I have to say I disagree. First, about the family part. At least she had a family and a normal life, unlike Naruto, who grew up alone and hated.Second, power-ups. I know Naruto gained a lot of free power up, but he also worked hard for some powers he got. Kishi made him a child of prophecy and a reincarnation because he's the main character. Just like Naruto, Sasuke had a rough life too. Overall, Naruto and Sasuke deserve power more than Sakura IMO.
Also, the real underdog is Rock Lee.

Never seen anything like that, many people have made up fake interviews or translated them wrong.

She always will be, she has no bloodline, she's a civilian and female. Not one female in Naruto can go without needing help from a man after some time.

Well, when you are a shallow person whom likes someone who obviously isn't interested in her(Sasuke) and who always treated Naruto badly for no good reason and making fun of him for being stupid she got everything she deserved. She's a terrible character. She isn't well written. She's written like a stereotypical high school girl who's a *****.

That's probaly one of the few things I can say I dislike about the series,no female character can kick ass (unless you count Kaguya who pretty much ruled everything) without help from one of the guys.

She was what most females are today at the age of 12.

Don't worry, it's just bait talk. Being a former mod at other boards and a much older member (this is a new account) I've learned to not even grace those insults with a reply.

I love how a woman is the reason for all this in the end. lol

everything was plot bro
he learned wind release ,SM and RS using shortcuts which he said obito not to take.
child of prophecy downgraded his char.
and he didn't raise himself

But the child of prophecy is what made the pain arc. The emotions and character development that came with pain arc, is one of the best when it comes to shounen. If the prophecy did not exist, neither would the Akatsuki, it helped build so much of the plot. All the prophecy did was show Naruto truly did have the power to change the world, that didn't change much of what we already knew. Also to show his connection with Ashura and Hagoromo, and also sasuke.

No one saying Naruto hasn't had help, but that's because he is Ashura. If you know Ashura you know he was never able to find the strength in himself without the help of others. That's naruto's character, he needs the trust and support of others to succeed, he's fighting for them and with them. That's who he's always been.
