[Discussion] Why do you like One Piece?

I try to stick with One Piece but it's really tedious and monotonous, I have to admit once they fight it's really badass as hell, but besides the fights and comedy it's really monotonous, I mean when Luffy fights he keeps repeating himself "I'm absolutely gonna kick your ass", "your ass is gonna get kicked" and that kind of stuff.

Why do you still read it? Drop it then. No one is forcing you to read it, even though you are wrong. It's not dull/repetitive as people make it out to be. (Which is a small minority)

The art style really sucks in my opinion, though I got used to it, but sometimes I can't hold my laugh when I see new introduced characters. (Zoro, Law, Luffy, Shanks and the Admirals all well made)

Laugh? The designs of OP characters have inspirations from people in real life with Oda's twist to it ofc. OP has one of the most detailed works and you can clearly see that Oda and his assistants work really hard to achieve those amazing panels. Oda also does his research when it comes to designing arcs as well, for example:

The villians keep getting back, I mean did Luffy actually kill anyone? It's like Oda is too lazy to make new villians so he just throws them back in the story.

Why would Luffy kill any of them? It's not like him to kill someone. He believes beating them is good enough, there's no point of killing them.

Something that really works on my nerves are the arcs with over 70 episodes, no problem if there actually happened anything but like 95% is talk and when they're about to fight they spring to another story line.

Over 70 ep.? Read the manga then. The anime is only decent/good till the TS. OP is dialogue heavy to people who read Naruto and IMO OP needs it.

To be honest I really amused watching the first 200 episodes, but it got worse and worse (I still watch One Piece, but not the best anime at all in my eyes), I mean when is it gonna end? From what I've heard it will dure another 5-7 years, I mean common, we just had a 2 years time span, Luffy got alot stronger, we can have 2 situations:
- Luffy is still not strong enough to take on strong Warlords (Mihawk and Doffy) and Admirals, the story has no point then.
- Luffy is strong enough to take on strong Warlords and Admirals. As example he destroys Doffy which automatically reveals what will happen in the next 5-7 years episodes.

I repeat THIS IS MY OPINION, ONE PIECE HAS SOME UPS AND I LIKE ONE PIECE, BUT FOR ME IT ISN'T NUMBER ONE BY FAR.

If it got worse and worse, why did you still continue it? OP anime isn't the greatest anime but the manga is one of the greatest, if not the best IMO. Luffy's goals and the SH's are a lot more harder to achieve than the goals of other characters in other series like Naruto. Would you really believe that Luffy can be on WB's level in matter of a year or two? No. It's realistic and irl your goals/dreams should take just as long.

Meh I like one piece for the adventure and the story even though it's slow as hell. Otherwise you're right. It gets repetitive and the character development is slim to none.

I Lol at these guys saying that the development of the strawhats or a character to be honest wasn't really "developed" when it was... they are just too blind to see , or they only care for a few stuff lol.

i like one piece because you have everything syncronized and well... you really don't have useless characters , like for example , in bleach you have rukia , she was useless , she was fighting and then well... she would loose *smh*

yes you have talk , so what? in naruto and in other mangas you also have talk , you need to have talk to understand the story , yes you have a lot , but so what? without talk you doesn't have any understanding of the story at all lol. and if you're complaining a little about a lot of talk well... it's not oda's fault , it's just the way it is and you have to accept it sooner or later , i like them talking because of the characters personalities and how all they act in that certain situation.

i like everything in one piece. if i don't like something i say.

No Luffy is the same idiot he was in chapter 1. Everyone else still acts exactly the same. The only person would be Usopp.

That's how he's always going to be. What do you want his personality to change so much to the point where we don't even recognize him? I can say that Naruto is still thirsty for Sasuke's c*ck, but does that mean he had no development? No. Look what happened to Luffy right after Aokiji's fight. He realized that he must grow and become stronger to not only protect his dream BUT also protect his friends. Don't even get me started with his development after Ace's death. These are just the key main developments but Luffy has many more, including the rest of the SH's.

Some character designs are weird, they don't suck though, like what's with that teapot who works for Big Mom?
