kakashi figured out that he was sending the parts that should be touched to the other dimension.. he didn't do that by sucking it in with his eye, his body does that.

As far as i'm concerned short range kamui is obito's tsukuyomi, long range his amaterasu and intangibility his ultimate defense, susanoo.

but for ultimate defence u need both sharingan at unlock moment... then it can be used blind... so kakashi and obitoo need share sharingan and once activat susanoo give the eye to other...

it's not like one of his eyes was destroyed..

A non-uchiha cannot awaken mangekyou sharingan.. when kakashi killed rin (rin committed suicide) you saw that obito still had a connection to his other eye, through which he witnessed the trauma and few seconds later witnessed it with his other eye as well, he awakened mangekyou sharingan in both eyes and susanoo in the form intangibility. if kakashi's eye wouldn't exist or wouldn't have witnessed the same trauma it would've not awakened MS.
Again, that's how i see it/think how it is.
