Monster/demon/creature that helps people?

i cant seem to find one but is there a monster/demon/mythological creature(or any creature) that you can think of that helps people?

i dont mean like a fairy i mean something that is sort of scary that helps people. like say a monster/demon that helps people/ does good? is there a word for a good monster or do you know any that is good? i need it for my story

i wouldnt mind making up one but i love referencing real life things like mythology and other creatures.

ok since people cant think of anything i am changing it to anything COOL that helps out people . .. . just give me something :|

see its like this. theres this monster in my story who decides to be a good monster, sounds corny right lol. so i was hoping there was a name for a monster who wasnt evil or a name of a monster that isnt evil that i could use instead of just saying good monster

If it's like that then, Japanese youkai were not necessarily bad/evil, more rather they came in all types/characters.

Those are actually Sirens, I don't think sailors do that.

Really though, the only thing I can think of from the top of my head are Moogles from Final Fantasy. >_> But I think that's hardly suitable.

basically the crooked man is a personification of your inner fears/ your failures from the past. once you grow weak from your own fears you will be consumed by the crooked man

The Krampus was a demon that took away bad children on Christmas. Back when parents knew how to put the fear of the holidays into their children. Lump of coal my ass. Bet kids behave way better when they were worried about being dragged down to hell by a horned monstrosity.
So yeah he helped by making sure children behaved.
