Is it safe to say Gai > itachi?

Itachi was able to slow time .. rendering guy's speed useless and that's his best weapon ... plus we've seen guy's ultimate technique 8 gates ... we haven't really seen itachi or his range of jutsu in a full out battle.
Ps sasuke v. Itachi doesn't count as full battle because he wanted to lose

Yata Mirror > Any of Gui's attacks. Even if Itachi wouldn't be able to hit him, Gai would just run out of time and die because he wouldn't be able to hurt Itachi either. Also, I love how you used Itachi when he was about to die as an example.

Gai only need's 6 gates to eat itachi alive, 7 is over doing it just to take itachi out.

6 Gates struggled a lot on a damaged Kisame with low chakra and no intel on Gui, let alone Itachi.

If Yata Mirror gives 360° protection = Itachi > Gai.
If not = Gai > Itachi.
