Why didn't Goku spare Raditz?

Why did he spare Vegeta and Freeza over his own brother? And unlike Vegeta and Freeza he didn't even kill any of his friends and was by far less evil than them.

I don't know it just seems weird that he would offer them a chance at redemption over Raditz.

raditz was trying to take gohan he had no choice he spared vegeta because techinically vegeta spared gohan and his friends until he arrived and frieza was spared because goku knew he had obtained a level frieza can not reach and he also was cocky at that point he did beat frieza at his 100 percent form

Agreed. It would have been a different story if Raditz was beaten down like Fajita and Freezer
*sigh* To think all we have left of Raditz is outdated fanfic :/ Even though he could only low diff a single saibamen, he had some cool moves.

Good question; it reminds me of why I personally consider Princess Celestia more ruthless than her sister Luna and or Discord--etc.

See with the mentioned above, Celestia didn't banish anyone, and or imprison anypony to stone, sure you could argue "but they were trouble makers", but did you see Discord doing such of thee caliber of Princess Celestia? Or Luna for that matter? (Hardly...)

Where as Raditz wasn't ruthless enough, or maybe Kakkarot took it a bit too personal when his son was kidnapped...

(That, or lazy writers...) One of the two...

But chances are if Raditz was a bit more ruthless... He'd have been spared--Methinks.

goku actually did go to spare raditz.. he let go of raditz tail and then Raditz turned on him again..

goku had to risk his life just to kill his brother.. and it was piccolo that killed him not goku so how cold goku spare someone who was killed by another person..

atleast with vegeta.. vegeta was at the point where he could no longer fight.. and goku being the naive person he has always been hoped he would change.. and he did eventually
