What level would Kimimaro be?

Dafuq is akatsuki level? Akatsuki goes from the likes of Hidan to Itachi and Nagato.

Lol that's funny i was watching Lee and Gaara vs Kimimaro this morning. Kimimaro definitely put up a good fight against Gaara and if he did become stronger I think he would be able to Join the Akatsuki.

Kimmimaro had loads of potential.

It was even theorized that he was a Senju/had a connection with the Senju at one point, due to the striking similarities between his techniques and Hashrama's.

Someone like that would be around Kage level, no doubt.

Considering the sound four made quick work of some fairly advanced jounin, and kimimaro defeated them all without any sort of effort I would say he's already beyond jounin level. Not only that but Gaara was already low kage level during that fight. I would say he had the potential to be a force. Not only would he be immune to the common chakra absorption ninjutsu that showed up later in the series, but he'd also be able to perfect his second stage transformation without dying shortly after. I could see him being as strong as the strong high akatsuki members and stronger than a few of the kage. Of course he probably wouldn't be quite as strong as the dojutsu enhanced members (IE nagato/pain, itachi, obito). Too bad we weren't able to see more. And to be honest i think it would have been OP if orochimaru took his body, but it would have been impressive to see his body with the range of jutsu that orochimaru has at his disposal.

He did more than put up a good fight, if his illness hadnt happened to kill him at the moment it did he likely would have won.

Hes definitely on par with some akatsuki members if hes at 100% health. Hes got a pretty good Kekkai Genkai and has nature energy powerup from the curse mark enhancing all his jutsu. He was far above the other sound 5 members.
