Naruto fillers that were decent enough for canon! (And helped character development)

Those who liked watching the manga- animated, and didn't find it difficult to survive through fillers... What arcs and characters did you find suitable and not just some worthless, shallow, absolute-filler trash for time waste?

What did you find that could have rather helped the manga plot and character development, instead of ruining the pace if it were to become canon? What would you like to be the canon?


Just recently I stumbled on Tsuchigumo Kinjutsu Arc.

It is about that 6-tail bijuu Jin Utakata and his obsessed, pursuer girl, Hotaru.

I don't know about you, but that filler arc gave me so much feels... especially in the end when Utakata gets killed by Pain, and Hotaru is just left alone in the field, waiting for him while he was already done for...
I think it was almost at the same level of feels when I was younger and had those canon, touchy Naruto moments.

Moreover, I think it would've been a great arc to further Naruto character development, life-reflection, and relationship w/ another Jin.

I think Utakata was a pretty good, laid-back, well-designed, amusing, character w/ unique jutsu. And he was also the only Jinchuriki that was a "missing-nin". I really wish I could see as much character interaction between Utakata and Naruto.

So fillers prior to ep 135 were decent, and only "most" shippuden fillers were horrible.

Then which specifically did you think were good and would've rather helped the plot w/ extra characters or experiences that mains had to go through?

three tails arc was nice and current anbu fillers was also awesome.

Yeah, that arc was pretty good.

Yeah, the woman w/ Crystal KG & her relationship w/ that "psychic" kid was pretty deep too. She got developed as a character and went through drastic believable changes, and provided Naruto w/ much interaction that helped his character imo.

It is even kind of hard to treat that arc as a filler. It has so much Kabuto there. It even has Sasuke and Orochimaru. I think it also has Diedara and Tobi.

That arc is already something like... semi-canon

Same I think about Tsuchigumo Kinjutsu Arc. Manga showed how Akatsuki are hunting down other Jins beside Naruto, but they didn't show Nagato's Pains doing so.

That Speark of Shukakau jutsu scene from Gaara chase Part I filler... Still remains as one of the most badass scenes in my opinion.

In 3-tails arc, I think there was a scene where Sasuke fights like 50 fodders at once on Orochimaru's orders as training.

Yeah! The Sanbi arc was awesome. That Guren lady has grown on me. n.n Also seeing how her relationship with that kid progressed to the point of her adopting him (kinda) and that whole misterious ending in wich the konoha thinks that the kid ran away while in reality he was reunited with Guren was awesome. ^^
