He deserved to be punished but I don't think he deserved a lifetime ban from all NBA related activities. Yes he made racist comments about blacks and Hispanics, but he made them in the privacy of his own home, not in public. Not only that, it's going against his first amendment right of freedom of speech, so I really don't agree with Adam Sliver decision based on that alone, but it's whatever, what's done is done.

well, i still didnt get what his real problem was...
was he pissed cox his GF took photoes with another man couldnt explain his reasoning correctly thus by mistake becoming the biggest racist of the 21st century or he just didnt like black/brown poeple
that being said, people have their different opinions and if a person is racist, then thats his/her choice... whether its in the interest of humanity is something they dont think about

That is true, but I don't think forcing him to sell his team and banning him for life was necessary. Racism just seems petty to me, that's why. :\

He deserved it. Though I must say, that I personally think, he didn't mean it that way 100%.
His gf is known for sleeping with a lot of men, and most of them are black. Everyone was making fun of him, because his wife only wants his money, so he just did not wanted her to betray him all the time "in front of publicity."

Although the guy is a racist old bastard, I don't think the punishment should have been that extreme. I'm black, and definitely found the video to be disturbing, especially coming from the owner of an NBA team with black star players.
His "girlfriend" really ****ed him up. Those things he said were said in privacy, and confidence, and she had the nerve to send it to TMZ. The dude buys her exotic cars and a 1 million dollar house, and that's how ****ed up she acts?
I believe many rich old people think the way he does, and like him, won't say so in public; after all, he's lived during periods of racial discrimination and segregation and it's hard to skew his train of thought at his age.
With all that being said, I hope he and his girlfriend get what's coming to them.
