Does the mangekyou sharingan enhance genjutsu prowess?

When the mangekyou is activated is the user more resistant to genjutsu and can they perform more powerful genjutsu as well? Obviously Itachi and Shisui have extremely powerful MS techs but I'm talking about regular sharingan genjutsu.

I believe it enhances everything. As Sasuke and Itachi have both fought with their MS/EMS active while not using a jutsu like Amaterasu or sussano
