Sasuke said it clearly here.
This is a thread to clear things up a bit, or at least try to, when concerning the decisions they took.
People constantly call Sasuke emo, or a cry baby because they don't understand his character and goals (IMO). They compare him to Naruto and say that Naruto was strong willed and did not give up, yada yada.
Here's what they forget though, Naruto simply acted out because he wanted attention and he wanted to be accepted by his peers and to stop being treated badly, he never looked for revenge. That's why he was able to stop acting out and to stop getting angry at every one; he had achieved his goal once Iruka took notice of him and his problem was solved. Naruto had no clue what Sasuke felt. Naruto's pain was gone and yet he goes on to say that him and Sasuke are alike. He does this for every character and they somehow listen to him, like WTF... ok i'm getting off topic.
Sasuke had a completely different goal than Naruto, he wanted revenge and he had the tools to achieve that. He had everything, and then it was suddenly taken from him and he was made to watch it repeatedly. Sasuke wasn't looking for attention or comfort like Naruto was; he didn't care for it because everything he wanted was already taken from him. And you people ask why he left for power? Sasuke knew that his life wasn't going to be pretty, but he wasn't going to rest until he took out Itachi.
When people say that Naruto is stronger willed than Sasuke, I really don't get it. Sasuke is one of the most, if not the most, determined (willed for this series I guess.) character in the series. When he has a goal he'll die before he gives up on completing it.
This isn't even the whole of it, but i'm not skilled enough to actually describe Sasuke's character.
Anyway, this is just my thought's on why Sasuke is a better character.
