What's to stop Madara from becoming a spirit like the sage or his sons

Madara claims he is immortal due to absorbing the juubi. And it seems hagoromo is immortal in the sense of having a non corporeal form for the same reason. We also know his sons endlessly reincarnate trough chakra. So what's to say that when Madara is defeated/killed he won't become the same thing and continue the cycle of hatred as a chakra spirit?
