Mito Uzumaki was introduced in the manga a long time ago yet little is know about her which is stranger because she once played a major role that is debatably equivalent to Madara's & Hashirama's. Kishi not elaborating on Mito leaves many unanswered questions but I do expect for Kishi to to tell her story. Hopefully it will be similar to the way Hashirama told his to Sasuke except of course the conversation will be between Sakura & Mito. Now what would be the purpose or motivating factor for having this conversation? There are reasonable possibilities:
1). Sakura & Mito both need some type of development (We know nothing about Mito plus Kishi has neglected Sakura)
2). Mito could be the link to Sakura's Power up
3). Mito may hold important knowledge that can conclude certain elements of the manga such as: An outside take on the conflict between Hashirama & Madara since she was present, How She managed to capture then tame Kurama (the power of her fūinjutsu) or Her love interest (Was their a love tingle, maybe?)
4). We know Hashirama taught Tsunade how to gamble but what did Mito teach her? Maybe some healing principles along with some Uzumaki Tech?

Characteristics they each share (Besides being Kunoichi's) is the rhombus symbol on their foreheads, the Byakugou seal. So, what do we know about it?

• It's the pinnacle of chakra control
• It stores chakra (acts as a separate additional reserve)
• Vehicle for regeneration, self healing (Strength of a Hundred & Yin Seal: Release) & maybe more (Slug Sage Anyone?)
• The medium between between user & Katsuyu (requirement for Remote Healing, determines Katsuyu's presence & grants a form of Clairvoyance)

The seals origin, Tsunade claims to have developed the seal yet Mito has a similar rhombus mark on her fore head which leaves doubt. Mito's appearance followed by an explanation directly from her can clear that up.

Then there's the legendary summon slug (Mito=Slug Queen?)..

So lets say Mito did have the Byakugou seal which is highly possible, then that links her to Katsuyu. Right?

• Did Mito & Katsuyu have a relationship?
• Did she ever summon her & if she did what were the circumstances?
• Did Mito ever visit the Shikkotsu Forest?
• Did Mito introduce Tsunade to Katsuyu?
• Did Mito teach Tsunade the requirements of Katsuyu's Summon (help Tsunade create seal)

• Did Kurama & Mito have a side battle? How much did her resist her?
• How did Mito restrain Kurama? Did she have chakra chains like Kushina?
• Did Mito have assitance with sealing Kurama within herself? And if she did who could it have been? Tobirama?
• Or was she an OP ***** who did it on her own?
• Did Madara even make an attempt to stop Mito from sealing the 9tails?
• Did he refuse to lift a hand against her? **Wink, Wink**
• Did the possible Byakugou seal on her forehead play any part in this situation?

We know at some point Mito gained control of Kurama & to gain power for her husband, Mito used a fūinjutsu to seal Kurama within herself, becoming the tailed beast's first jinchūriki.

It would be interesting to hear Mito's version of events​

• Did she try to stop it?
• Her emotions, what were like?
• Did Hashirama & Madara demand her to leave?
• Did she witness everything?

• Did Mito know Madara & Hashirama while she was a child?
• Did she have an adolescent crush on Madara?
• When Madara left the village did mito did ask Hashirama to bring him back?
• Did the friendship develop into a romance?
• Did Mito try to kill Madara by herself?

I'd like to see some more development on Mito and the Uzumaki in general. But with the current progression of the manga, I doubt Mito will have any relevance.

I hope we get to knowmore about Mito. I hate how Kishi brings things up but takes so long to explain them. It's been years since Mito has been brought up. Hopefully Madara says something like Sakura reminds him of Mito (trigger mini flashback for some insight) since they're about to have a confrontation. I mean it's awkward timing, but if it was placed anywhere else it would seem more random.

Kishi is keeping some secrets till the very last moments and I do agree, that some of them have something to do with Mito.
The way Madara mentioned her here leads me to believe, that they did know each other well...

Then there comes the Shikkotsu forest and the mystery surrounding Katsuyu's true size and origins... Tsunade and Sakura with their Byakugou seals opened, being capable of summoning only 1/10 of the original Katsuyu is quite intriguing and makes me want to know who could possibly have been the one to summon the whole thing... (perhaps the sage himself? or Kaguya?)
I'm pretty sure Kishi'll get back to these things soon...​
