Watch the current anime arc. Itachi approached the masked obito in the forest outside konoha and asked him for help to eliminate the uchiha. The massacre was done by itachi and the masked obito. Thats how obito (and madara knew)

Yes he did, he asked for Obito's help.

He asked for help he didnt tell obito it was a mission from his superiors and elders from the village. Obito with the help of zetsu clones n spies figures that out himself. Itachi asked him for help . He didn't tell him killing the clan was a mission

If you watch the filler obito knew the password for the Kenosha barrier. Also 3rd hokage n his barrier squad detected obito a few times coming in n out the barrier in the uchiha district. 3rd then told Itachi to look into it. N Itachi found obito/madara
