Proof that Madara wasnt being serious with Gai

Not once was he shown to use Limbo, apparently, Limbodara is only effected by sage chakra. Madara could have easily used Limbo and sent out Limbodara to smash gai with a powerful assault. Gai wouldnt know what hit him. Madara could just keep Limbodara around him. Madara may not have had the reaction speed to actually move his body, but his eyes could still keep up with Gai in 8 gates. He could just have Limbodara pop out on the moments of impact to block Gai or counter Gai Had he been serious.

Remember, Gai lacks sage chakra, nor does he have sensing power, so Limbodara would have easily been able to hit Gai with a direct attack without Gai even seeing it coming.

Why didn't he use Limbo on Gai when he went for the final hit of the Elephant. He clearly was concered and wanted to defend himself even saying he can not let the fists hit him directly.

How? They both have shared vision due to Rinnigan. So they would see him coming, Gai wouldnt expect that he was being watched by another Madara so his attacks would be focused on Madara giveing Limbodara easy openings.

I think Gai was just simply too fast for Madara to even use limbo. That and even if he had an opening, Kakashi, Minato and Gaara would shut him down.

This is just speculation on my part but, Maybe Gai was moving too fast for even Limbo Madara to react? Playing around is one thing, But Madara was taking some very heavy damage there. He even said he enjoyed his fight with Gai and that he hadn't had one this tough since Hashirama.

You don't say something like that if you are just gonna stand there and take it. My guess is that Gai was simply too fast for Madara, both Limbo and real to react with any of his techs, even his rinnegan/Sharingan couldn't keep up.

HOWEVER, Madara was tough enough to tank even the 8th gate attacks which is a testiment to Madara's constitution.

I agree, I don't think Madara was going all out but nevertheless Madara didn't expect many attacks and that cost him. I think Madara didn't do Limbo because he didn't have the power to actually stop a charging Gai with just a limbo (that appears to not have ninjutsu so far only taijutsu).

Haha even if Madara's limbo attempted to punch a crazy fast Gai, it wouldn't really do much IMO.

What makes you think limbo would work at gai speeds with bending space if even naruto could side step it?
He was being serious, he resorted to onmyudon that was countered by support team.

What your missing is that guy was to fast for madara to even react durring there fight and limbo can only come out so often and it takes time to use it. madara even stated guy almost killed him and was worried about his atks hitting him because they could kill him. madara didnt have time durring there entire fight to even atk guy back and wasnt even able to deffend himself.
