1. Check the viz translation reaaaalllly clears it the misconception

2. Phasing and Travelling to the other dimension are two different things

3. When Obito would travel to the other dimension he would have to be tangible, [as noticed and stated by Konan], when he phases despite sending a body part it is different as you can see he does not need for some reason to suck in that body part via Kamui.

4. Madara did not phase, in fact he was cut in half and jumped into the other dimension via kamui, sucking the tangible part in

2. Phasing does not require sucking urself in [thus actively using the eye causing the sucking motion and swivle lines]

3. Travelling requires the user to be tangible, [ as stated by Konan when she fought Obito]
