I just don't see the team dynamic working with Hinata. Also, I doubt Hinata could've done almost anything better if she were in Sakura's position.

Because Sakura isn't as boring as Hinata.

Hinata was never planned to be a part of Team 7. Sakura, even if Kishimoto hadn't planned that far in advance, is a combination of Kushina and Rin and of course, Tsunade. Team 7 = the Sannin and Hinata is nothing like Tsunade in temper or physical power. Kaguya wasn't even a thought then and shouldn't be considered one now. Hinata is not the only female Hyuga, there is also Hanabi, but there is only one Sakura.

Sakura, though not as strong, is smart. They put her with Naruto and Sasuke so that they can balance out her weakness and she can, in turn, use her intelligence.

LOLOLOL, sakura doesn't even recognize 4th hokage's face, she's as intelligent as might gai

Well, Sakura was suppose to be a Genjutsu type, Naruto Taijutsu, and Sasuke Ninjutsu. I guess he decided to toss that idea.

I'm not sure Kishi wanted Hinata to be a Ninja at first. Here's a early concept art of her:

Because Sakura is better thats why.

Sakura is more powerful than she was before owing to her being part of Team 7. It would have looked bad if Kishi had developed Naruto and Sasukes powers yet neglect the third member of the team.

That said, it's highly likely that Kishi would have developed Hinatas power had she been a part of the original Team 7 lineup. She (Hinata) may have very well learned healing jutsu under Tsunade herself. Her strength in Taijutsu would have been further developed, made even stronger by encorporation of the Gentle Fist.

well heh hehe just ideas i guess. it is what it is, however i still think Hinata would have been better.

And THERE you have highlighted a mistake on kishis part.

He should have developed the character of Hanabi Hyuuga who did indeed share Tsunades fighting spirit.

I agree so much with this! Hanabi had so much potential and was left as not even a supporting character.

Hinata is weak too.

Putting her with them won't make them OP like u said.

Even though she's a Hyuuga, she was weak. And currently, Sakura is stronger than her anyway.

And everyone should agree that Team 7 has been the strongest team from the other 3 since a long time ago, and that's including Sakura in the team.

It was for the Sannin thing. Oro-Jiriya-Tsunade, and Kishi wanted a normal girl character as a main character.

Hinata being part of team 7 would have made more sense

In a Interview, Kishimoto said that at first, naruto was just gonna train with kakashi by himself
(so i guess that would mean that naruto never passed and he secretly trained with kakashi) but then his editor said that, naruto needed a Rival and a love interests for more views, but hinata was a shy and already loved naruto.

Im confused because Hinata sucked ballz. There is actually a real reason, revealed by kishi himself would have saved you the effort. I also love how everyone thinks the initial purpose of kaguya having byakugan is more for hinata than the fact that we needed to know the origins of the byakugan as well as sharingan...

I think kishi should have replaced Sakura with Hanabi Hyuuga (Hinatas sister). That would have been much more interesting.

Hinata was just intented to be a fodder who even with Byakugan is much inferior to a girl with no lineage and no Bloodline limit.
