Well he is right. What possible motive does Sasuke have to attempt to kill Naruto? And if he thinks that he can achieve position of Hokage and kill Naruto who F.Y.I is the beloved hero of the village that he so wishes to rule, then he really is ignorant.

How do you know Kishimoto hasn't already come up with a sensible reason for Naruto vs Sasuke to happen that we just haven't thought of yet? Unless you're preemptively deciding right now it's not going to make sense no matter what then we shouldn't assume anything yet.

Well you are right. I just don't think it would be a good idea for Sasuke's character to just turn like that, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
